Good looking TV stand!
I took a leap of faith and ordered this based on the reviews on here. I am glad I did because this appears to be a very quality TV stand that will last me for years. And it looks great in the living...a huge upgrade from the previous stand. It makes a big difference in my overall environment and makes watching TV and relaxing in the living room more enjoyable. Upon arrival, this things was HEAVY. That is the first sign that this is a quality product. Overall, it took me over 3 hours to assemble so be prepare to allow yourself the space and time and put this together. The assembling instruction was pretty awesome. It is very clear and I did not have trouble following it at all. Every pieces are labeled for ease of assembling. The only thing you need is a screwdriver. Overall, this is one of the better purchases I have made in the effort to upgrade my living space. Again, it looks great...very tasteful and the price is very reasonable. I believe this will last me for years so that is pretty good value right there.

Directions are amazingly detailed and easy to follow
Just finished putting it together. It took about 2 hours a day for 2 days. Directions are amazingly detailed and easy to follow. I read each step 2 or 3 times and it went together just like clock work. You must assemble it up side down, which is no problem. Just be careful when turning it upright. I called the help number once, at the beginning, and received courteous and clear instructions. This credenza is well made and solid and looks terrific. Does nick a little on the finish if not careful. Assemble it on a piece of carpet next to where you plan on placing it. It is heavy and sturdy. The hardest part was getting it inside after the delivery man left it at the front door. I opened the box outside and took all the parts inside after about 4 trips! I also separated all of the screws and put them in 4 separate small plastic containers which made them easier to find when needed. Don't hurry. The directions are clear. It looked so nice, when finished, that my wife asked me to order the Sauder Heritage Hill Open Bookcase, which matches the classic cherry color.

Looks great, relatively easy assembly, very slight shipping damage.
I'll start with the shipping issues. Our UPS guy (who's pretty awesome, BTW) said flat out that about half of these types of shipments (assembly-required furniture items) go right back onto his truck to be returned immediately for replacement. These items aren't really packaged for big truck delivery and the handling that UPS/FedEx/USPS packages routinely experience. Ours wasn't banged up too bad on the outside, so we accepted delivery, and I don't regret it. Having said that, we had two pieces (out of about 30) that had problems. Flipping through the directions before assembly, I determined that the damage on these two pieces would be invisible once assembled, unless someone did a very thorough search. One piece (the front top molding) had spots where the finish was worn away on both ends. This will only be visible if someone is laying on the floor looking up at them. The other piece (the large bottom piece) had a crushed corner, but it wasn't structural and is hidden behind the large block on the front corner. The assembly instructions were very clear except for one point: adjusting the doors. I wound up rubbing away a small amount of finish on one of the doors while trying to adjust it properly. Again, not visible on the final product, but disconcerting nonetheless. Also, they should include a note to have the doors open while installing the central shelves. I managed to scratch the edge of one of the doors when placing the shelf. Total assembly time: ~4 hours. If I'd had help, it would have been closer to 2.5 or 3, but unpacking, cleaning, and sorting all of the parts (and there are *lots* of them, especially when you count the all the hardware) seemed like it took me forever. The finished product looks (and feels) like a $1,000 piece of furniture. It is sturdy, has a beautiful finish, and is one of the very few tall (>24"), wide (>42") TV stands I was able to find for a reasonable price. TL;DR: It's work, but it's worth it. Be careful with the finish while assembling.

Worth the money...
Sauder's Credenza is much prettier than in the photo. I strongly recommend if you want a TV bench for your 60" TV, but consider the following. 1. Packing - arrived safe through UPS (they always do). Mine was lucky because it was handled by UPS. All the edges are protected by 'L' angle edge protectors. But there is no padding for large areas as it is prone for damage. The package comes shrink wrapped. 2. Unboxing - read the instructions on the box before you open it, orientation comforts you unpack easily. 3. Part list - before you begin assembling check for all the parts, it's a huge list need some patience. 4. Assembly - plan for half a day from unpacking to finish assembly, cleaning includes. If you do this product first time, you really need almost a day full. Clear 10'x10' area for comfort assembling, better be near the location where you finally place your TV Bench. Read the instruction manual before you start and make yourself clear on what you are going to do. Instructions are step by step & easy to follow. Visit [...] if you want some video on how to fix some parts, very useful if you watch before you start assembling. 5. Pride - it took around 5hrs for me from unpacking, cleaning & assembling. I struggled lot to fix the door hinges, it is not a good quality hinge but it is enough if you are really good in handling the tools. You feel yourself accomplished something great once you look at the assembled TV Bench. It looks great. To Sauder: 1) It would be easy for us if there are metal inserts for mounting the door hinges. Really hard to tighten the mounting screws to the panel while holding the door single handed. 2) group the fasteners step by step or group as it is needed for the step #. 3) Instead of small nails for the back cover, screws are good for easy dismantle. Otherwise, a great design.

MUCH nicer than expected!
This is such a nice credenza for the price. Plenty of room for all of our electronics. We have a 60". It looks great and doesn't quite come to the edge of the credenza. Like other reviewers, it took 3 hrs to assemble (and I actually enjoy this kind of stuff) BUT, the most time consuming/frustrating part was organizing the nails, screws...etc because they were all thrown into one package. It wasn't hard to assemble, just took time. I would recommend inspecting ALL of the pieces BEFORE you start assembling. I noticed a LARGE chip on one of the corner pieces. Thought It was a bottom piece that wouldn't show - so I proceeded. It wasn't until I was almost finished that I realized the chip was on the TOP, FRONT corner. Boo. The credenza is beautiful but the chip looked awful. I called Amazon to see what my options were. Returning was not an option (NO WAY was I going to try to disassemble this sucker) so the friendly Amazon rep offered a "cosmetic" damage discount. I'm going to stain the damaged area and feel much better about keeping my damaged piece after a discount. Very pleased with Amazon's customer service and my lovely credenza!

GORGEOUS!
The shipping was a little on the slow side, but the price was excellent and that compensated for the longer wait. (Significantly cheaper than Wal-Mart is charging for the same product.) It's pretty heavy when it arrives in the box and the FedEx guy had to ask my husband to help him get it off the truck! LOL Hubby is pretty good at this kind of thing, so he was able to assemble this in about half a day and it looks wonderful! VERY sturdy materials and the instructions were relatively easy (just time-consuming.) After it was completed we placed our 2 cherry bookcases on each side, our 60" TV on top of the stand and then added a free-floating cherry shelf above the TV. It looks just like a full wall entertainment center in that configuration and gives a complete movie theater experience to the room. In addition to this piece, we recently purchased a desk locally that was also made by Sauder and we're very impressed with the manufacturer in general. We will continue to buy Sauder products in the future, as we've been very happy with the look and quality of their merchandise.

Better than I thought
I searched a lot of places for a stand for my 60" flat screen tv. The price was just right. But you know how that can go. I decided to order it and see. I liked the design of it plus it was taller than what I had. When I received it, the box was smaller than I expected. Don't let that fool you, it's heavy. After unpacking I had pieces all over the place. All the screws come in one bag, so I suggest you pour them in a large bowl and remove only what you need as you put it together. I assembled it by myself, taking my time. It only took about 3hrs. It was easy. Plenty of space for cable box, dvd player, movies and more. The hinges on the glass doors make adjustments quick and easy. It really looks great. I took a chance and it paid off. One bottom piece was damaged and Sauder sent it to me in just 3 days. Customer service was GREAT!!! If your looking for an inexpensive stand, that looks great and is very solid and strong, I think you will like this one, I know I do.

Not what I was hoping for.
Pros: Not difficult to assemble. Everything was there. Looks pretty good from a few feet away. Make sure you use the brown screws where you're supposed to or the black ones will poke through. Instructions were pretty clear, but keep track of the individual part labels after leaving that page as they're not marked in the drawings for the next step. Con: This is not what I was hoping for. I never would have bought it if I had seen one assembled first. To start with the package placement design is flawed. The top of the credenza is placed against the outside of the package. Any breach of the cardboard results in damage to the surface of the top. All of the edges appear to have the finish worn away. Additionally, I wrote to ask the dimensions of the side compartments (the ones covered by the glass doors). The shelves were as wide as stated. HOWEVER! The post where the door hinges are fastened narrow the opening by almost three inches! If you have narrow components, or have 4 hands, you can get two components in the side compartments, but not likely. Even if you do manage to squeeze a DVD or VCR player in there, the post can block the DVD drawer from opening or a VCR tape from ejecting. There are no feet on the cabinet, so moving it across any surface is difficult. Bare floors will be scratched, sliding it on carpet is out of the question. I'd stay away from this item.
