I didn't realise how small it was. Saw one on a Nigel Slater programme, liked the look and thought, 'Yes, I'll have one'. Placed the order, thinking I would get something similar for the price. How disappointing. Might be able to crush a couple of peppercorns.

I bought two of these mushroom top grinders and this one is absolutely PERFECT for small batches.

For the little mony spent, this mortar and pestle works pretty well. However, I have used ones where the top and bottom fit together much better making them quicker and a lot easier to get a fine grind. If you can afford a bit more money, I'd recommend looking for a better fitting one.

Great value and solid pieces for small amounts of grinding. I use it as my pigment grinder before adding the liquid. Good sized, functional and the shape is good for getting in the crevices. makes mixing paint a lot simpler and less wasteful.
