Designed To Give You Maximum Protection Against Rocks. Cast From Lightweight Aluminum To Dissipate Heat. Reinforcing Ribs For Added Rigidity And Strength. Fully Machined Seal Surface For A Leak Free Installation. Review: Durable, Convenient, Well Made and Good Value - I bought this for my 2005 Ford F150 with 9.75" rear, limited-slip differential to replace this OEM unit that Ford didn't believe needed a drain plug. This replacement cover fit perfectly. It came with with a tube of Dynatex black RTV, although I used the Permatex that I'd bought at the same time (not knowing that it came with sealant). It also came with a set of socket head bolts that require a 1/4" hex bit. I found this odd because I'm quite sure the threads are metric. Regardless, the bolts fit perfectly. I don't believe you'd have any luck reusing the factory bolts because the casting of this cover doesn't have adequate clearance for larger bolt heads. According to the G2 website this doesn't have a magnetic plug, but in fact mine came with a magnetic drain plug. It also had two more plugs, one at the same depth for checking/overfill drainage and another higher up that I used for filling. It's really nice to have a separate fill-hole from the check-hole as it means you're likely to stop filling as soon as your level is right. With other diffs I either had to go really slow or risk a large overflow quantity. I had also bought a Felpro gasket, but ultimately decided not to use it. It appears that OEM didn't use anything but RTV so that's what I did. I couldn't be happier with this cover. The quality seems top notch and the price is right. It's a very thick casting that I'd estimate at ~3/8" thick. Oh, and it's good looking too, if that's your thing. For me though, it'll always be function over form when I go shopping. Review: Received with mis-drilled holes - Drilled holes are out of alignment.for proper fit, rendering the cover useless unless you want to try to re-drill holes and hope it fits without leaking. Seller did send a prepaid shipping label after reaching out to them. Seems they have a quality control issue which is a shame because the cover is otherwise well constructed.

Looks MEAN on my 2016 F150 XLT 4x4 3.5 Ecoboost
I had never changed my rear end fluid before, but I knew it was time. And since I planned on keeping this truck for a long time, I wanted something that I could easily change the fluid in the future. That's where this guy comes in. And it does surely look nice from behind!

Installed on a 2008 F150
Great cover at a great cost, provides beefy aluminum cover with better than OEM cooling and a drain plug. The fill hole, full level hole and drain hole plugs all came with nylon crush washers but i used some thread sealant as well. Instead of RTV a Lube Locker gasket was purchased and used. Only reason for 4 stars is no documentation can be found shipped with or on the website for G2. It would have been nice to know a few things, such as: the included hex screws are 6mm, no final torque value provided but a lengthy internet search concluded most folks go back with OEM specs of 33ft/lbs, total gear oil used was 3 quarts.

G2 needs to do some QC
This cover should have gotten five stars as the casting and hardware are first class, looks great and is well designed with a red anodized magnetic drain plug. The issue is the 10 and 7 o'clock bolt holes were not in correct position. I think I am being generous giving three stars given the extra unnecessary effort i had to put into fixing a defect that could easily be picked up during a quality control check before boxing. I had to re-drill both holes on a drill press using the old cover as a guide. See my attached pictures - G2 please take note!

the plastic was stretched and was a little dirty from a garage
Got this from amazon, It came in original box and wrapped in plastic, the plastic was stretched and was a little dirty from a garage. I put some on my truck two months ago and they're without a doubt the best product I've installed. My f150 got these and I honestly wouldn't buy anything else. Please keep in mind I'm aware there's better products available at much higher prices but I'm not a race driver on a closed course, neither is half the folks who run them but that's their money, but for my money I refuse to buy cheap off name brand junk, and draw the line at really high priced stuff that earned their reputation from spending money advertising rather than research, I usually go with mid priced stuff such as these and I found a real gem with these, I'd definitely recommend this to someone!

Off-set from OEM
Seems like a solid cover, BUT it is offset and makes me a little nervous. G2 should have checked their measurements before creating this cover.

Not for F150 v8
looks very well made, will not fit F150 with V8 and Ford super 8.8 which is OEM for V8
