This works for 8 hours. Some times the stickiness is costly. It stretches and that spreads the effect of it. It doesn't have a smell. Wearing it eases inflammation and cools. If I want to put it on my back I will get help to keep it from folding up on me.

I had a total knee replacement and a couple of months later, after weaning myself off opioids (hydrocodone), I was having a difficult time falling asleep at night due to lingering nerve pain around my knee. I've found that cutting these patches into halves and placing them over the irritated nerves relieves some of the pain and helps me get to sleep. After placing them on my skin I loosely cover them with a reusable, self-adhesive wrap to prevent them from falling off in bed. I still have to supplement my pain control with NSAIDS (like Advil) but at least I'm able to avoid taking heavy doses of addictive opioids. Got these patches at a great price and they are lifesavers. I have back issues and these really reduce the pain - not going to say they relieve it 100%, but they really drop the pain to a level where I can enjoy doing activities, even ones that aren't necessarily fun. :) They stay on really good, especially if you stretch them a bit as you put them on and smooth over the patch a few times with your hand.

The patch is good for long term pain relief. Keep in mind that any pain medication takes time to get thru the body. This patch is really effective for topical areas. I was slightly disappointed that the adhesive is not as strong that I would like to be. The patch was placed on my upper back side. Wearing loose cloths would make the patch rolled up and eventually come off. A quick work around was to wear a fitted tshirt tucked in so the fabric doesn’t roll up the patch.

My husband uses these patches on his knees or feet or back as needed. He cuts them to fit the areas. He says they do reduce the pain.
