MoKo LED Lighted Desktop Magnifier Dome with 5X Magnification, Magnifying Glass with Light Large Viewing Area for Seniors Reading, Inspection, Exploring, Coins, Low Vision - Carrying Case Included

I purchased 2 magnifiers to use at work. The first one was just the plastic 2.5" dome with 6x magnification from another brand, and the second was this MoKo 5x LED model. My first comparison impressions were that I quickly got a headache from reading through the dome model, but not at all through this LED MoKo magnifier. The MoKo is quite a bit bigger, and I was concerned about the black sides blocking some of the plans I need to read. This was not an issue in practice at all. This is now my go-to magnifier and travels with me in my backback to work sites. The only issue I had with it, being the first of its kind I have used was that there weren't clear instructions on how to turn the light on and off: There is a switch inside that says on/off, and the battery tray comes with a plastic separator to be removed before use, but no indication of which way the batteries should be inserted (polarity). To make things harder, there is no indication that the silver ring on the top of the unit is also an on/off switch, so the batteries need to be facing the correct direction, the inside switch needs to be on, and the silver ring needs to be pushed in to get the unit to light up. This took a while and some trial and error to figure out where instructions would have clearly and quickly gotten me to using the magnifier. Once figured out, clarity is great, when the light is on, magnified content almost appears like it is on a monitor. (edit) I just re-read the item description from amazon, and the 3rd bullet point in the "about" section indicates how to turn it on. I don't think that is where the majority of customers would look once having received the magnifier. I would still prefer this information to be better explained in the instructions and the battery polarity indicated with a + sign on the battery door.

As a designer, I have to visit job sites, some have poor lighting, or I get drawings that were printed so small I can't read them. This magnifier is awesome. It comes with its own protective case. It fits in a pocket, case or bag. The built in LED light is amazing and bright. Even in the office I use it a lot to read drawings. A lot of people have seen it and asked were to get one. I highly recommend this magnifier.

It does need batteries.

Eye sight is not the great anymore, use this to review maps. Works Great!

Having trouble reading the small print on prescription bottles or package labels. This product solves that problem.

Great lens, but the light mostly does not work. If it does, it will go out when I move it. I will need to find 2 batteries and see if that does the trick.

Does the job. Solidly built and quite bright.
