Works well on cold press paper. Mixed results on hot press paper. I will definitely be using this regularly

If you are a guoache painter this is a life saver. Adding just a few drops of this to your paint will keep it staying wet while painting. And if you are like me and tend to forget to moisten your paint, this will save you. It does let the pain dry full and keep it wet longer. It does not affect the formula, color, or consitency of the paint. Just add a few drops depending on the amount of paint you squeezed out of the tube, give a good thourough mix and happy painting.

So, I tested this Windsor & Newton blending medium with two different paints I have. The One on the left is my cheaper Himi watercolor palette, and the one on the right is my trusty Windsor & Newton watercolor palette. I wanted to see how it would do with my cheaper quick-drying paint, as that's the one I have trouble blending with due to the fact it quickly dries. But I wanted to see how it did with its own brand Windsor & Newton. Ironically I found it to blend much better with my cheaper Himi brand palette. I'm not at all complaining. I'm very happy it is working well with my cheaper paint that won't blend well on its own. But I am a bit surprised. 4-star out of 5 because I'm surprised it doesn't blend as well with its own brand watercolor. Pics to go with comment.

I purchased this item on the recommendation of Lindsay The Frugal Crafter. Just add a drop or two to keep gouche moist and prevent drying and cracking in a palette.

This stuff have made a world of difference in the desert environment that I live in. This really helps to extend the drying time of both watercolors and gouache; it also increases the ability to easily rewet your paint once it dry on the palette if a bit is added to the paint before it dries. Definitely a game changer!

My fav. I use this when I put my watercolors into a shallow full pan so it doesn't crack. I use a pipette to add one drop only and mix it into the paint with a toothpick. I don't recommend putting anymore than 1-2 drops as it can change the way your paint behaves. You can also use this to get cool affects during watercolor. doesn't leak when on its side or if you drop it For some reason the seal was already taken off, I'm not sure if it was used though ?? I supposedly bought it "new".

I bought this blending medium to add to my gouache paint, as recommended by artist Lena Rivo. So far it is working as she described it. It helps extend the drying time of my paint. Since I store my paint in a multi-cell plastic box, it is important to keep it from drying out. This seems to do the trick nicely.

Used for Gouache not for watercolour it keeps gouache paint wet for long so good for blending with Gouache

This is a really useful product. I was struggling to blend watercolours without getting a hard water line when I was making cards. This has solved the problem and it gives me more time to work with adjoining colours and I don't get any water lines. I'm going to buy some for an artist friend for her birthday. Highly recommended.
