Great little Doggie Litter Box!
This is a great little doggie Litter Box! Its very well made! Its the perfect size for my 7 lb. miniature female poodle!. She likes room to circle and find a spot before she does her business! I live on the 10th floor of a high-rise condo building, so I trained my puppy to the doggie litter box. She's over a year now and is 100% trained to the box. Because the top layer is a green AstroTurf type of material, she has no problem using the grass outside when we are out and about. I like this particular Doggie Litter Box System because of the layer system. LAYER #1: The box is a heavy duty, durable plastic with sides and does NOT leak. LAYER #2: You lay a Jumbo Sized doggie pee pad on top of the floor of the plastic box. You can fold the edges to fit perfectly. You can change out the pee pad as often as needed. In my case, I change it weekly. LAYER #3: The plastic grate layer keeps the Astro Turf separated from the pee pad. The holes are well spaced so the pee goes straight through to the pee pad. The grate is a sturdy, heavy duty plastic. LAYER #4: The Astro Turf layer is cut to the size of the box and you receive two, so one can be cleaned while the other is being used. This particular turf has a very porous backing so the pee goes straight thru immediately. The poop sits on top and is easily removed with a poop bag or scoop. (I've learned that my dog will not pee in the box if there is a poop on the turf!! Prissy!) CLEANING: In my case, I take the box outside and take it apart about once a month to clean it; I spray the plastic box, the grate and the Astro Turf parts with a 409 - 99% - disinfectant spray on all sides and let it sit a few minutes; Then I hose it all down with a powerful spray nozzle on all sides; I leave it outside about an hour to drip dry. Trick: Use a skirt hanger with the two pinch holders to hold the Astro Turf pad during cleaning and drip drying. Works great! This Doggie Litter Box System is NOT messy and disgusting like a kitty litter box! Its all contained and all you see is a grassy patch! The best compliment to this Doggie Litter Box system is that my high-rise condo neighbors are jealous! They are taking their small dogs out 6-8 times a day - rain or shine! I would recommend this system whether you are in a high-rise condo or a single family home if you have a small dog, but the dog needs to be trained to the litter box as a puppy!

Life saver!!!
Update- our puppy is now 5 months old and we still love this thing so much! I wanted to clarify that we have the large size, but we do have a small dog (8lb maltipoo). I think a massive dog would be too big for even the large size, but I’m not sure. Our dog has plenty of room to do his business on the large size. Once we were able to let him go on walks, there was no confusion of him going on real grass and he uses both options (our yard and this porch potty) with no trouble at all. If you aren’t using high quality pee pads under the turf (we buy the bully ones) it will most surely smell. You also must be diligent with changing those out and hosing the turf off, we do this about every 2 days. This option is still our preferred spot for potty because it is literally right outside our door. We have a new puppy and we were instructed by our vet to not let our puppy on the ground until shots are completed (several more weeks). We decided on a porch potty type set up and I chose this one because it came with 2 grass inserts. This has been amazing for us! We can hose one off and allow it to dry in the sun while having the other one ready to go. We rotate them every 1-2 days. I was really worried about it smelling on our porch and it absolutely does not smell! We use good quality pee pads underneath that lock in the urine and keeps us from spilling pee in the tray when cleaning. Clean up is a breeze, no smell and it is making potty training a lot easier! Our pup knows this is his potty spot now and I’d doing an amazing job! We have even taken this in our car, putting it in the very back and he goes perfectly on it there too. I also love that this product has extra drain holes meaning the grass doesn’t stay saturated with pee, it drains quickly and straight to the pee pad underneath. Highly recommend! We are hoping this product will make transitioning to peeing in our back yard easier when he’s allowed to do that, but will also keep this on our covered porch for when it’s raining as a second option. This product would be great for puppies who can’t yet go outside on the ground, apartment building living, a second potty option for rain/storms etc!

great for potty training while living in an apartment
so i originally got this for my 1.5yr old pitbull and would leave it out on my balcony while i go to work during the day; he never used it. but i just recently got a new puppy and it has made potty training so smooth and efficient! i live on the 3rd floor in my apartment complex so potty training is very difficult to correct when not having the ability to immediately go outside. so, my girl Nala pretty much got the hang of the idea of peeing on this turf pad within 3days. i was quite shocked and impressed at how quick she was able to pick up on it. we are currently on day 5 of no accidents in the apartment and she is just 8 weeks old. just make sure to hype them up and give them a reward whenever they potty on it. cleaning can be tedious and somewhat time consuming if you don’t have a hose. i just put some bleach and carpet cleaner in my bathtub, fill it up with hot water and let the turf pad soak in there for a few. then i just rinse it off and let it hang outside to dry. i haven’t had any problems with smells, as long as i wash it every 2-3days. it also comes with two pads so while cleaning one, you can place the other one down on the plastic mat. great quality and would buy again. highly recommend for potty training or if you leave for long hours in the day.

Skip the artificial grass and just get a pee pad holder
I really wanted to love this product. We just got a 3 month old newfypoo and are in the middle of potty training. It didn't take long for our dog to start using the product, the problem is maintaining the grass potty training pad/tray. The smell of urine would definitely build up if you don't clean it at least every other day. Personally dragging the large tray to the bathtub, cleaning down 3 layers of this potty tray definitely wears you out. Cleaning the grass itself is not an easy task, b/c once you wash it taking it out and drying it can get messy and super wet (especially if you have a small bathroom). When I would be finished with washing the grass, I would then run too the balcony to dry off and switch it with the other grass ... you would then see a trail of water from the bathroom to the balcony. After washing the grass, I would have to go back and finish cleaning the tray and drain tray that you put on top of the pee pad before putting the clean grass on top. Honestly, it really got too much to maintain but didn't want to throw it away or go through the hassle to return the product (especially since it was not cheap) so we tried a different approach. Basically, we removed the grass from the equation and are now just using the tray and the draining trays that you put on top of the pee pad (to hold it in place) and it has been a game changer. Every night I can now easily lift the draining trays, remove the soiled pee pad and put in a fresh one and just wipe down the draining trays with a wet paper towel. There is no more urine smell build up and maintaining it has become 100x easier. The one thing that upsets me is that I paid almost $80.00 for a pee pad holder that I could have found for $30-$40. Our newfypoo still goes on the tray even though we removed the grass. I do want to mention, when we did have the grass on top of the tray our dog would love to lay in it, which was not ideal. Since the change, he has not laid on the tray even once. If you do decide to purchase this product, make sure to get nonslip furniture pads (because the tray will slide around if you put it on a hard wood surface) also consider getting a reusable pee pad to place under the tray because there are times when your dog can miss and ends up getting pee on the floor. Overall, it is not the products fault, it just didn't work for us, I really believe having the grass on top is not necessary because you end up with the same results of where your puppy goes potty as long as you train them where to go.

Good quality product
Nice product. I’ve had good results changing the pad regularly. Hosing down the grass mat with vinegar and dishwashing liquid keeps smell from accumulating.

This Was Great For Our Dog, But Got Stinky Really Fast
I live in an apartment with an English bulldog, and I am gone long days, so I wanted a place for her to pee while I'm gone. She liked using it and learned fast because it held onto familiar potty smells and was easy to pick up after her. However, after about a month or so it was cleaned with a hose and the smell of pee just stunk in it. It was easy to rinse the tray and disassemble to get the bottom cleaned but the turf wasn't as absorbent as I expected. IT was helpful having a replacement turf with it as well. The pee went instantly through the turf and into the tray, so I started putting a disposable potty pad under the turf to catch the pee and make it last longer. For reference my dog is 40 lbs and I got the medium size, and it was a good size for her!

Love this and easy to use and clean!
Perfect size to put in the boat, camper, or home. It’s good for 2 small dogs (7 pound dogs). I do love the separation between the pee pad and the mat with the grate!

Excellent Product
A necessity for condo living. Really high quality faux grass and holds up well to being washed in the bath tub. If you can, build a wooden perimeter around the tray so that it doesn’t move around on the balcony because of the wind. It was a great purchase.

Woks perfectly!
Love this for my tiny pup. Especially in the winter when it’s a blizzard out. Works perfectly and easy to clean. I use a gentle baby soap such as Dr Bronners.

Le falta un poco , más de calidad
Es bueno el diseño, pero sería mucho mejor si mejoraran la calidad de plástico de la charola.

Amazing solution for emergencies!
This might be the best thing I bought for my dog. I live in a condo in the city at the third floor and sometimes, when we need to go potty fast, this is the solution! We have outside on the balcony and it's truly the best thing! To get our dog to pee there and not on ou balcony we juste took a paper towel, rubbed it in her pee and rubbed it on the fake grass. Did that once and she never peed anywhere else! To empty the plastic tray, I suggest paper towels if it's outside, cause pads will get smushy from pee or rain. I also use a seringe if there is rain and pee in the tray. It's too hard to like take the tray somewhere when there's liquid in it, it's very wobbly. Great solution for appartement dogs who sometimes have emergencies!
