My coworker is a lazy POS. So when he dozes off at work I peep over his cubicle and give him the ole wake up call. Sirens are arousing too. All and all this microphone quality works great. Volume control is good, size is perfect, looks cool, battery life is good too. A LOT OF FUN.

I am a soccer coach and needed a megaphone to replace an older 25 watt (much more expensive megaphone). This 40 watt Pyle megaphone was exactly what I was looking for. I did not want to spend a lot of money for something that I would only occasionally use, so I decided to give this megaphone a try. The description on Amazon says the sound will travel 800 yards and the box says 1,000 ft. All I know is that this unit is very powerful and will definitely be more than I need for what I am using it for. The audio is adjustable and there is a police-like siren and a built in classical music track that can be played. As a teacher and coach, I have found out that students and people in general respond better to a spoken voice that is amplified vs a voice that is unassisted and straining to get louder (the strained voice is perceived as yelling at them rather than speaking to them). One thing that I instinctively went to do was pull the trigger on the megaphone to speak into it and found out that there is no trigger on this megaphone. There is a plug in handheld microphone that is included with the megaphone, so not having a trigger is no big deal (this probably helped to cut down on production cost). I think the handheld mic is cooler anyway. Bottom line is that I would definitely recommend this megaphone for the casual or semi-casual user. We will see in time how well it holds up (Pyle does offer a 1 year warranty if you register the product online.)

The handheld mic is nice so you don't have to hold up the horn for an extended period, however I'm not sure how long it will last as it literally looked like a toy. It is plenty loud and the siren is a great feature. Wish there was a better strap system. You can put it over your shoulder, but the clasp tends to move and there's no real comfortable way to have hang off your shoulder. That said, I haven't seen anything else better as far as the strap goes. Note that it uses 6 D batteries, which seemed a bit overkill for me, but if you want the output I guess it's necessary. All in all, for $22, it's well worth it. I'm sure you could spend a lot more money, but we only use it a handful of times throughout the year.

This megaphone has a really clear sound and loud. I am glad that I purchased this and would recommend to others!

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR ACTUAL USE OF THE EXTERNAL MICROPHONE - DO NOT WORK. I thought, meh splurge and get the external mic. lolz, it was so bad, I tossed it after testing it once. Use the mic on the back of the unit or buy a better external mic. I'm using this for an art project, so most of the issues others have had don't apply. Kind of know that coming into this product. 3 stars to support the folks who've had the problems with this product. I.e. Too cheap, falls apart, not loud, mic useless, batteries make it heavy, no better than scramming out loud. DEAR PYLE, please sell a better quality product at a cheaper price, not a useless junk cheap. You'll loose customers fast if you keep this up.

Worked well for an event. Not too heavy, amplifcation was adequate for very large moving group of people. Battery life was good and it was easy to use.

This is a great bullhorn. I would suggest purchasing their 50 waat professional bullhorn with rechargeable battery. It is much lighter than this one. We have used both. This megaphone works great, but is heavier than their 50 waat one. I would definitely recommend it.
