It says 1700 mcf DFE of folate, but how of that is actual folic acid equivalent?

Hello, We apologize for any confusion. At the end of August of 2020, we updated our Optimized Folate supplement facts section. The amount of folate was updated from 1,000 mcg to 1,700 mcg based on updated FDA labeling guidelines. This change is a result of what the FDA has defined as dietary folate equivalents (DFE). They determined that 0.6 mcg of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, calcium salt is equal to 1 mcg DFE. They have also determined that one mcg of naturally occurring folate is equal to one mcg DFE. Their rationale is that this accounts for the greater bioavailability (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, calcium salt compared to naturally occurring folate. The change to 1,700 mcg in this product allows us to deliver the desired potency in terms of DFE.

What is the expiration date?

The expiration date on mine is 7/20/2023, but I bought it over 3 months ago. I have no idea what the expiration date will be on the bottle you’re buying.

Metafolin is a trademarked name for the active form of folate, known as methylfolate. While Optimized Folate doesn't utilize this specific brand, it does include L-Methylfolate.

Is any component of your usa manufactured product sourced from china or india?

It's been a very long time since I purchased this product. I no longer have the container and have consumed all of the product. That said, I have since switched to Folic Acid 800 mcg made in Austin Texas and available on Amazon.
