Who Would Have THought A Dictionary Could Be Fun?
I bought this to use with a reluctant third grade reader. She had been given a dictionary at school. THe print was way too small and there were no diagrams or photos. I wanted to get something that would encourage her to use it. THis dictionary is wonderful. It is color photos, and self=help hints all through it. We learned about how to look up the word using guide words, pronunciation, parts of speech and making sure to view diagrams and pictures for added meaning. It is a great gift for kids that struggle with reading, or who are younger. I would use it for ages 8-11 at least. Sstruggling readers can even use it a little longer because it is so motivating.

Great dictionary, also for non English-speaking students
Engaging pictures and easy explanations. It has most of the words you expect to find for grade school. Highly recommended also for foreign students. Great quality for its cost.
