Amazing for the money!
I’ve had these chisels for several years. They are easy to sharpen, and the backs were easy to flatten. This is an incredibly great set. You simply cannot find a better set of chisels for this price point. My Narex Richter chisels are decidedly better in every way, and hold an edge far longer, but these are not in the same category as those, and they don’t need to be. If you are new to woodworking, or just want a backup set that is very functional, and extremely affordable, this is it. Yes, you’ll get plenty of practice honing the edge, but you truly have nothing to lose in purchasing these. You will have no regrets!

Great value for the quality of chisels you get!
I happen to love these chisels I got! I am elated to get a drop-forged set of CR-V steel chisels of this type steel, and quality. I for one don’t have the extra $150.00 to $200.00 pulse dollars to put-out on chisels having essentially the same type drop-forged heat treated steel, that may be in a housed in a fancier box. I am certainly not buying them for the box. I am purchasing them primarily for the type of steel they are made from and the fact they are said to be drop-forged. I find the quality I received them in to be quite nice! My next most important desire is functionality, followed by thickness, flatness, finish of the steel, and their weight. These seem adequately sharp from the manufacturer. However, most all cutting instruments, especially of this type, can use that extra special touch when it comes to sharpness. Sharpening for most people is a very personal matter anyway isn’t it? Now, when it comes to accuracy, that is primarily in the hands, and skill, of the user — now isn’t it? As to their finished size they seem spot on!

Decent Starter Set or Carpenter/Garage Set
I’ve had mine now for well over a year and use them exclusively for having a cheap chisel that I can manipulate the primary bevel for situational purposes like building outdoors or addressing softwoods. I’ve had the bevel as soon as 17° for use in pine/cedar or squared the end off a bit to use as a scraper. These don’t compare to my Veritas or Lie Nielsen’s, but are a great set for someone starting out in woodworking on a budget and maybe not certain they’ll really get in deep quite yet, or they make a great set for general homeowner use, also good as a traveling set for vacation/etc. When buying chisels, you are paying primarily for two things: the quality/temper of the steel and the degree to which they are finished/lapped. These are a cheap set that a new comer can put energy into while learning a lot and also make a great tool to learn freehand sharpening with since they take an edge quickly and so you’re not spoiling the steel on your PMV11 Veritas or Richter Narex; also too, it’s far easier to learn on this CR-V steel than on the A2 steel you’ll encounter with Lie Nielsen and Stanley Sweethearts which take so much more to remove steel from. Highly recommend for new wood workers and as a utility set for learning and meeting situational uses like outdoor or super soft woods which won’t play well with the typical 25-30° bevel you normally use on your better chisels.

You get far more than you pay for!
These are the best value in chisels that I have ever had. The chisels arrived well packaged, and appeared to be of good quality. After unpacking , I began the task of flattening them, and to my surprise, it took no more than 5 minutes each. Each chisel polished to a mirror finish on its back, with minimal effort, and time. They were just as easy to get a razor sharp edge. I haven't had occasion to use them on anything other than yellow pine and walnut, but they have retained their edge as well as any others that I own. I suspect that they will not hold that edge quite as long as a top of the line, top dollar chisel, but for the money, and ease of sharpening, they can't be beaten. At 16 dollars for the entire set, I can happily sharpen a bit more frequently, and do without the coronary when one decides to roll off of my bench. Overall, they are also a pretty good looking set of chisels with decent ergonomics. If I could have one wish, it would have been nice to have had some leather caps on the bald headed end, to deaden some of the noise from the blows. This is just a great set of chisels, for very little money. UPDATE: After having more time with these, I have noticed that the steel does not hold an edge as well as I would prefer. I have been using them in some older, yellow pine that is peppered with hard, dense knots. I mentioned the fact that the pine is older yellow pine out of fairness. Yellow pine seems to gain a great deal of density, and the knots harden with age, as well as the fact that yellow pine contains a great deal of silica. None of those factors are friendly to a fine steel edge. In honesty, I don't believe that even the finest steel would hold up in that environment, but I mention it to give an honest and concise review. The down side is that the worst damage was very small chips on the edge, after using them with a mallet against the knots. Now, the redemption is the fact that the steel isn't hard enough to make removing the damage a chore. I was able to remove all damage with100 strokes on my 1000 grit diamond stone, and return to a razor sharp edge with another 100 on my 2000 grit, finalized with 30 strokes on my strop. All in all, the total process took less than 10 minutes. I still believe that, for the money, you couldn't ask for a better set of chisels. They would make an excellent purchase for someone that is just starting out, or like myself that just likes to have another set on hand for convenience. I am still thrilled with them, and would not hesitate to buy them again.

Excellent quality
This is my second set. I love these chisels, perfect sized wooden handle and the metal is sharp. They are also pretty easy to sharpen on a wet stone.

Great Chisel Set!
Nice chisel set, they feel well made and are very sharp (at least straight out of the box). I had a piece of scrap lumber that had a pretty rough bark spot on one side so I decided to make a rustic skinny bench. I usually use screws and a hammer to make these type of faux rustic edge designs but the chisel set is WAY more precise.

This is a good product for the price, but know it isn’t a ready to use product. It actually took some elbow grease to get the backs flattened to a proper working condition. Steel is ok and holds its edge well enough. Once sharpened they worked great. Handles are ok and hold up to wooden mallet. I’d say if you are a weekend woodworker on a budget, these will do you just fine. If you are using this for odd jobs around the house, these will do great, provided you take the time to sharpen these properly.

Even though I have not worked with these chisels yet they appear to be good and well finished. Contrary to some, these ones came sharp. So far I am happy with them.
