I love this laptop backpack. I read through all the reviews on Amazon.com and selected this one based on the many positive reviews so am adding my own to help others.I am a 44 year old sales executive and wanted something very functional but something also very "corporate looking" that I could bring into client meetings without looking like I just walked off a college campus somewhere. Candidly, I also wanted something masculine and the Swiss-Army brand fit the bill. In terms of construction the material is very well put together, tough and durable. I have also found it to be very water resistant (hesitant to say waterproof because I have never really tested it unprotected in a full out downpour). The backpack is quite comfortable to wear even when heavy, as I test in my daily 15 minute walk from the train to my office. The inside is very functional and well organized, with several pen-pockets (there is nothing as maddening as trying to find a pen in the bottom of a full backpack), another pocket I use to hold my business cards, a phone pocket, and several other utility pockets. Also love the port at the top for earphones to feed through since I often listen to my iPhone when walking to work; this allows me to have the iPhone in the backpack rather than in my hand and just go through one of my playlists.The side zipper for the laptop is very handy and keeps the laptop separate from everything else. The side zipper makes it super easy to take the laptop in and out and there is a velcro strap within the pocket to secure the laptop. I also love the pack's ability to send the laptop through the airport screener without removing it and have used that functionality several times without any questions from the TSA.Excellent product. Completely satisfied.

This backpack has been my reliable companion for several months now. I have used it for various purposes, such as carrying my college textbooks on campus and transporting my laptop. The material is of excellent quality and very strong and resilient. The main compartment can fit 4 or 5 large books easily. The laptop compartment can accommodate a 16 inch laptop and has enough cushioning to keep it safe. I disagree with other reviews that say the side pockets are too big. I find them very convenient for holding my coffee tumbler. The straps are fairly comfortable and well-padded. I have no complaints about this backpack. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a versatile and durable backpack. It is worth every penny! 10/10

I love this bag! It was easy to handle through airport security and it holds way more than stuff than I thought but also great to traipse around the city on day trips! Very happy with the quality and strength of the bag. I will be using this a lot for travel!

Love Swiss Gear. We've had one of their backpacks for years & it is still holding up great. So when my son needed a sturdy backpack for school I looked to them. This is a great pack WITH ONE BIG FLAW ----‐ the side pockets are relatively useless!! ALL waterbottles topple out. He doesn't even use the side pockets and has to put a waterbottle in the main compartment.

Very sturdy well made product. Love the smart scan feature. Plenty of room in this bag with lots of pockets and sections for all your needs. I use this for every day transport of many items on may daily commute and it handles the job well! The seams and fabric hold up really well under the strain I put on it so far. I had always wanted a Swissgear bag and when I finally got this one I was not disappointed. I also love the lightweight fell when it is on my back. It supports very well and my back pain has decreased wearing this as opposed to the other bags I have had in the past. It certainly fits my 15.6 inch dell laptop with room to spare and the padding feels protective and secure. I like the side access feature for pulling the laptop in and out easily. I also would like to point out that this bag has a bottle pocket on BOTH sides of the bag which in my opinion is a plus as many times I have more than 1 bottle to carry and this is great! All in all so far I love this bag and would definitely recommend it to anyone who commutes or students who carry a heavy load as it will definitely perform and for the price its a steal!

Whoever designed this backpack loves all of us and wants us to be happy. I had shied away from SwissGear bags because of the price, but it was on sale and I'm hanging my head in shame for not buying this earlier. Super roomy bag that holds everything, but holds its shape well when you don't need to carry much. The ScanSmart pocket for laptops worked at DCA in August 2014, and I can't wait to try it again. One pocket goes to ScanSmart, the second opens for notebooks and other things, there's a third that's wider and shallower (under the logo), and the front pocket has a place for everything (keys, pens, lip balm, all the things that bounce around and usually get cluttered). There is also a small pocket for a phone, camera, or iPod behind the SwissGear logo--accessible to you, but hidden from anyone who isn't welcome in your bag. Maybe these are standard features for SwissGear bags, but the tiniest things make such a difference. The shoulder straps and back make it unusually comfortable to carry a heavy load. My only complaints are that the water bottle pockets are not quite as deep as I'd like, and the logo on the back portion can cause clothing to develop pills. Great bag.
