National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of the Ocean

Excellent !!! I bought this as a complementary to the two other popular kid books of the national geographic series (first big book of animals and first big book of dinosaurs) Like the other two that is perfect to widen the nature knowledge and imagination of my kid. Pages are full of colorful photos of a wide variety of sea organisms. The cover might be misleading for those who expect an assortment of fish types. This book offers an excellent balance of fish, reptile, mammals, birds and invertebrates that either live in the ocean or on the shore. Not only that, it also categorizes them according to the ocean they live in. All oceans including the arctic ones are covered. This offers your kid a better understanding of the different ecosystems. The fascinating photos are accompanied with a paragraph or two long text that gives some useful information. Parents, do not underestimate those texts as simple info for kids. As a person that is working in biological sciences, I can not believe how much I learnt from them. At the end it has an index and some useful guidance suggestions on how parents can help their kids get the most out of the book.

My step-son loves to read and this book didn't disappoint with over 125+ pages of ocean goodness! The sheer fascinated facts of many beautiful living species that inhabit various oceans across the world is amazing! Its bright, colorful and detailed pages is ideal to keep kids intrigued and learn about the depths of our oceans! I purchased this book when amazon had it on sale and easily worth much more for what i paid for and a great educational tool for children to learn. Highly recommended for all kids and ages.

I got this as a gift for my five year old nephew for his birthday. He loves animals and science! I have gotten him two other books like this on different topics but lately he’s been really into ocean creatures so I thought this would be perfect. He loves it! After opening presents at his party, this was his first go to despite having tons of new toys to play with. The book is very well put together with a hard cover which will hold up to kids. The information in the book is great and definitely written for kids to understand and learn from.

Good quality

Our 5 year old grandson loves this book. He knows all the sea creatures and likes that they are real looking and not pretend. He is learning the different oceans and he tells me about each creature living there. The book is advanced enough that he will continue to learn new creature details as he gets older. His mom and dad have the dinosaur book and he loves that one too.

Bought several books from this series for my 3 year old nephew. It’s suggested for kids a little older but has plenty of pictures and stories. I’m sure he’ll enjoy these book for year to come.

The vivid pictures, as well as how the information is written, are enough to grab the attention of a young child. There are enough pictures on the page, and the written info is short enough that my grandson will sit long enough to listen as I read. The book is enjoyable for all ages.

Hours of fun and learning. . Beautiful vibrant pictures. Great price. . I am going to buy the whole set for my curious 5 year-old and I enjoy reading them with her . Great for learning to read.. . It's just a shame that there wasn't a page for the blue tang (dory from finding nemo). My daughter loves the movie finding dory and all the animals in the movie are in this book. . My daughter loved. Pointing out the animals and fish from the movie. Detailed and beautiful

My grandson just loved his First Big Book ... the book arrived in great condition and the bigger pages full of information made it an easy read.

We bought this book as a gift for our daughter. And she was very happy. We read it several times with her. The book is really informative as every big book kids series of National Geographic. We love to read them again and again. Highly recommend.

I bought it as a Christmas gift to my friend's daughter. The quality of the printing is amazing. Even thought my friends daughter can not read the book, she was really interested in the images of the book. Actually not only my friend's daughter was excited for the book, but we all were surprised by the images and content. I am sure my friend will have a lot of fun and great time with her daughter reading the book. I highly recommend it.
