Awesome!
This is great! I fractured a lumbar vertebra and the surrounding muscles are in serious spasm mode. When frozen, this is great to work on relaxing and numbing them. Can see many uses for this in the future. Even frozen, the ball rolls smoothly and the plastic holder is easily held in my hand and not cold. The ball is removable but I just keep the whole thing in the freezer. I imagine if you were going to heat it up it would be best to heat the ball separate from the plastic holder. I gave away my first one to a friend in need and ordered another for me. I may have to give these as Christmas presents this year!

Stays frozen for as long as I needed it. Much better than a cold pack ( can massage the area) or ice (no water mess).

Not suitable to apply pressure
The stainless steel ball started getting a swirling pattern after the first use and was getting stuck from time to time, unable to roll. It felt like it was missing a piece on the inside or something.

Great for heat therapy!
I have not used this product for cold therapy, only for heat therapy. It is very easy to use and to clean. It will stay warm for almost 10 minutes (after heating for about 10 minutes in water). One of the only things that I think can be improved on is the textured grip (it could use more textured grip around the base of the massager, and not just the rim). I was also worried about heating the metal ball to hot and melting the plastic, but this was not a problem. You also have to be careful because the metal ball can get very hot. I personally like to heat the metal ball pretty hot and start off using it over clothes (does not work well over jeans, only over thinner clothing) first, then when it cools off, I will use it directly on my skin. Overall I am satisfied with this massager and it is a reasonable price.

Good for aching muscles
This massage ball is great for aching muscles. It can also be chilled or warmed for additional comfort. The ball fits well in your hand. I have since given this item to more than one person as a gift. Everyone loves it!
