I mean this in the most complimentary way, it does its job well and its durable! It doesnt have a lot of frills but it will feed ur family for years

I bought this 4 years ago and it is still working great! It is the perfect size for the 2 of us. So easy to use and simple to clean. I never made rice at home before this purchase and now it’s a staple. Rinse my rice, add my liquid of choice and seasonings and push start. We have perfect rice every single time. It really couldn’t be more simple. I have even added a can of cooked meat (chicken or spam), can of drained beans and even frozen vegetables for a one pot meal. If it were to fail I would purchase another asap.

I recently took the plunge into the mystical world of the Instant Pot Rice Cooker, and let me tell you, my skepticism was diced finer than finely chopped onions. But oh, how wrong I was! This contraption is like having a rice wizard in my kitchen, casting flavorful spells with every grain. At first, I couldn't believe that a kitchen appliance could make such a difference in the rice game. I mean, come on, it's just rice, right? Wrong! From the very first batch, I knew this Instant Pot had some serious culinary sorcery up its sleeve. The rice that emerged from this magical metal cauldron wasn't just rice; it was an experience. Each subsequent batch somehow managed to outshine its predecessor. It's like the Instant Pot whispers ancient rice wisdom to each grain, urging them to reach their full potential. But wait, there's more! This pot doesn't just cook rice; it turns your kitchen into a flavor battleground. It forces broth flavors into the rice like a seasoned general leading an army into tasty victory. The rice becomes a canvas, soaking up all the savory goodness, turning even the most basic grains into culinary masterpieces. For me, this rice cooker is replacing an Aroma pro rice cooker that suddenly died. It wasn't old enough die, but it perished suddenly. When looking for a replacement, I was considering an Instant Pot, and I researched and asked around about them. In that process I found that Instant Pot makes a rice cooker and got super excited. I didn't really want to pay for an instant pot because I wouldn't use the other functions very much. So I decided to try this. Awesome decision on my part! It cooks my rice (jasmine and basmati) sooo perfectly. I like the pot in this rice cooker way better than the one that was in my Aroma. The Aroma would almost overcook the rice sometimes, and even if it was just nicely cooked, the rice stuck. The Instant Pot does not stick! It's a much better coating. My one and only issue is cleanup. The pot is easy - dishwasher and done. The cooker itself needs to be tended to a little. When it gets hot and boils up initially, it does sputter and spew a little. I sit it on a kitchen towel and that's not such a big deal, but the inset part of the lid causes the starchy goop to pool up, so that needs to be wiped out. Again, ugh, but not the end of the world and well worth the yummy rice. The really annoying thing is the lip/rim inside the cooker. It fills with the starchy water and isn't the easiest thing to clean. Again, to me the cooker is still worth it, but I think Instant Pot could fix that issue. I would buy this again in a heartbeat and am enjoying using it. And we use it.... at least 2-3 times a week. Love it!!!

I absolutely love this little appliance. I put in a mix of grains (rinsed) including brown rice, quinoa and buckwheat together, added two cups of water for each cup of grain, closed the lid, pushed the brown rice button. It cooked it all perfectly. Then, I brought in some fresh greens from my greenhouse, washed them, put them in the steamer basket and a cup of water in the bottom of the insert, closed the lid, pushed "steam" and they cooked perfectly. It's so easy to use and easy to clean.

I've used this unit 3 times now and have been pleased with the quality of white rice it cooks. It's a great, small size (if that's what you're looking for, and I was), and is hassle free. Put in the dry rice, a bit more water, and anything you wish to cook in the convenient little steamer basket (such as frozen potstickers or chinese sausage), then press one button to start. My only confusion was that it doesn't show a timer when you press start. Instead, once it knows it's on the end of it's cycle, it displays an 8 minute timer, counting down to finish. Typically, it finishes cooking in about 30-40 minutes. I put in 2 cups of dry rice and it cooked to the top of the steamer basket, so if you're cooking more rice than that, don't expect to be able to use the steamer. Excellent value for the money and I'd recommend it to anyone!
