It worked for us
We were in the Adirondacks for a week at the end of black fly season, mosquito season and deer fly season. We were outdoors a lot, on lakes, fishing. We had everything. High and medium percentage DEET's, Picaridin, a couple other herbals and other sprays and then there was this stuff. I started out with this. First, you have to be comfortable smelling like a lemon plantation. But I don't mind the smell at all, and I applied very liberally to exposed skin. It seems to work well. I had bugs all around me but very few landed and none bit. Now, it seemed to wear off relatively faster than DEET, but reapplication is not an issue since it's harmless (I think). A couple of good applications seemed to do the trick. Now I have to admit that I'm OK with DEET and when the bugs are bad and I fall back on it just because reapplying in a kayak can be a pain. The 40% DEET, or the 98% DEET stuff... that works real well and needs no reapplying for hours. But for health's sake, I used this stuff as much as possible and it is the best of the botanical/herbal oil repellents I've used. Oh, and for the record, deerflies and horse flies don't much care what repellent you're using. If they're on you, they're gonna bite no matter what you're wearing. Edit: A season later. Black flies were much worse this year. While this stuff worked during the middle of the day, we relied much more on the 40% Deet during the early and late day. It lasts longer and the bugs refuse to land on it. So I would say this is a good repellant unless the bugs are extremely heavy. In my book, that is swarms. At that point, my hat, my shirt collars, my cuffs and socks are pretty liberally sprayed with this herbal armor and smell of lemon/citronella. The bugs don't like to land on it and cloth seems to hold the repellant longer than my skin. But for exposed skin, 40% deet did the trick. I think we used repel. Nets over the hats and face in the late evening also. But if the net touches the face, or blackflies get under the net, the deet seems to do the trick. I still think this is herbal a good product and the children all used this almost exclusively during the day with no bites except in areas they forgot to spray. But for super heavily swarming blackflies, deet/nets are better defense.

Good product
This didnโt cause me any skin irritation or breakouts like bug spray sometimes does to me.. it smells way less โchemicallyโ than normal bug spray and seemed to work good

Keeps me from being bitten
I recently switched from going for a run early in the morning to going for a walk. It seems that age (I'm almost 61) has finally caught up with me along with some, er, biomechanical challenges that were causing more frequent injuries. Anyway, mosquitos have always liked me, but now I am moving slower and offering them more chances to get me. I experimented at first with the travel size version, but then I got the bigger 4 oz. bottle once I learned it seemed to do the trick - bugs including deer flies would buzz me during the hottest months of the summer, but they wouldn't find any bare skin to suck my blood. I find that it is easier to spray some 2 or 3 times into my hand and then rub it into my arms & legs so I don't have to contort myself, and also the sprayer is most effective when the bottle is held upright. I'm less concerned about making sure I rub my hands together for areas that aren't as sensitive as my neck or face. I live in a swampy area which tends to be quite humid - I have spotted some paths that look like they go down around some of the swamps which I will save for the fall so it is not like being in the Everglades. I doubt this product will be effective against snakes, for instance.

Works great! I get tore up pretty bad by chiggers. This stopped all that! Very rarely get a bite when using this. Went with it due to being all natural. Highly recommend!

Works! Best ingredients! Good price
Love this stuff! Keeps the hoards of mosquitos around our house off my kids, including one that's O+ blood aka a mosquito magnet. The fact that it Works and with the All-Natural ingredients it's comprised of is wonderful!! I checked them on the EWG database. The consistency is weird as slightly thick white liquid - squirt it on in patches & then spread it with your hands - but the above factors make that negligible. My son's skin is super sensitive - the All-Natural bug spray I was using before would sting his skin the worst but also my daughter's & mine & make them cry. This stuff doesn't! It does irritate spots he's been scratching or little cuts but it's only very minor stinging for a few seconds. My daughter's & my normal skin is not bothered at all. One more thing is that as this is an all natural product it does not create a shield around the person. You need to make sure you cover every (potentially) exposed inch of skin. I also spray their clothes (hold the bottle farther away for a wider spray) as our big Texas attack mosquitoes bite through thin clothing, too! Spray it on your hands to cover your face and ears. Overall, I definitely recommend it!! Thank you, Herbal Armor for an excellent product!!

Definitely repels mosquitoes -- VERY strong smell -- not a great value for the money
I should've expected that this had a strong smell, I have no idea why I didn't, but wow, it really got to me. I smelled like a very strong citronella candle, and it stuck to my clothes and hair and inside the hall where I initially sprayed myself. (Yes, I started spraying it outside in the yard after that.) HOWEVER -- smell aside -- we have terrible mosquitoes at our local dog park, and I absolutely noticed the difference any time I went in without using this spray. I'd definitely say it worked, but the can went by really fast (within 10 days or so of twice-daily use), and it was way too pricey to get through that soon. I don't like DEET and hate it around my dogs, so I am constantly looking for an effective product that doesn't put them or me at risk. I just won't reorder this one unless I see a very good sale.

The best bug spray ever!
Bought this stuff a while back and I absolutely love it. Living in Florida with thousands of mosquitos is unbearable sometimes, and this stuff keeps them at bay without covering ourselves with burning and stinging chemically spray that gets in your mouth and makes you cough. You spray a few squirts onto your arms and legs, and then have to rub it in with your hands. This is more of a liquidy-lotion type product, rather than a thin can style spray - which I prefer, because you have way more control. No more holding your breath and closing your eyes while you blindly spray yourself with one of those cans of "Off!" and then run away from the fume cloud to catch a fresh breath. It is highly scented, so be aware of that. Smells mostly like lemongrass and citronella (which of course, are some of the main ingredients). I have very sensitive skin and this hasn't given me any issues. It does/can attract honeybees, but they'll just come up to you and realize you're not a flower and fly away. (Just let them be, don't swat at them! They're quite friendly). I recommend reapplying after a while, especially if you've been sweating. But if you do that you won't have any issues. If a mosquito is really desperate/already in the area, it may land on you - but if you wear it from the start it definitely helps and keeps them away. Other flying bugs as well avoid the scent (including no-see-ums / Ceratopogonidae). Overall, great value for the price! Comes in a nice big bottle, I've still got plenty left. Hope this review is helpful!

The best repellent ever
I'm someone who has severe allergy to mosquitos bite. Every time one bites me, I have to go to the ER. It's that extreme. I found this and it changed my life. No mosquito approached me ( and they love my blood), the smell is so lemonish and I like it, 0 allergic reaction to any ingredient ( and I have a super sensitive skin), and the best part is it really soothes the old mosquito bites. The size for the price is excellent. I will never stop buying this. It saved my life ๐ฅบ๐
