This clock is a beautiful piece of work and it looks great in my living room. It has good size to it and it isn't too heavy, the face is easily to read when checking the time. The wood look is attractive and is a great value for the price. I highly recommend this product.

I received the clock yesterday around 5pm yesterday. I immediately put a Lithium battery in it and set the time according to the Naval Observatory Clock and placed it on the wall. As with all the newer non-ticking clocks these days, I really like the sweep second hand. It reminds me of the plug-in electric clocks. There is one thing I noticed that bothers me a little and that is that the hands are loose. In other words, if you take the clock and shake it gently side to side there is a lot of play in the hours, minutes and seconds hands. This only seems to be a problem on the up sweeps (when the minute hand is "climbing up and down). This was very apparent for example around 13-17 minutes after the first hour. It was actually 6:15, but the clock looked like it was almost 6:16. The same on the other side of the hour, it looked like it was almost a minute slow. So I took it off the wall and figured I would compromise. I shook it again back and forth and tried to adjust the minute hand, knowing that I had about a minute of play in the minute hand. Maybe that seemed to work. I'm sure that if I went through all the trouble of exchanging the clock, the other clocks would be made the same way. I'll just have to get used to it. Earlier this week I had purchase a 12" similar clock from Amazon, made by Bekith. I just went down and shook that clock and the hands move very slightly. I know the description says that the construction is wood, but I kind of doubt that. It appears to be a resin/wood like bezel, but it is still very attractive and anyone looking at it would think that it is made of wood. This morning, approximately 14 hours later, the second hand is right on the second, and I am very happy with that. So the only thing I can say right now, since it is less than 24 hours, I hope the clock lasts and I don't have any problems down the road. A clock like this should last for years. I'm just not sure how long the battery will last, which powers the sweep second hand. Only time will tell. Note: 6/7/22 . As mentioned above, I received the clock on Friday and installed a Lithium battery in it. I used an accurate time and set the clock to the second. Now it is Tuesday (four days later) and the clock picked up approx, 1.5 seconds. (Quartz clocks usually run a little fast over time.) In the clock box was an email address of Linda Zeng, who I emailed. She explained something to me that I didn't know. She said that quartz clocks shouldn't use Lithium batteries, but instead, they require carbon batteries. Something to do with the initial current draw, which could damage the time keeping coil over time. So I ordered a four pack of Panasonic carbon-zinc batteries on Amazon and when they come I will swap out the battery. I also did some research and never knew about this. I have used alkaline and lithium batteries in all my quartz clocks over the years. But to sum up, the clock is beautiful and works well, and Linda told me that is in fact, made of pine wood. An update November 2, 2022 - Got up this morning and noticed that clock had stopped at 3:30 in the morning. Was nervous that I would have to buy another clock or go through the effort of returning it and replacing it from the company. I measured the Panasonic zinc battery that was recommended for this clock and the voltage was very low. So by replacing the battery, the clock is now running. So for some reason the battery only lasted five months. I'll have to keep an eye on this clock and two other similar clocks that I bought around the same time. I have never had a clock that the battery didn't last longer than a year. Another Update - March 20, 2023: Clock stopped again and had to change the battery. The last time the battery lasted approximately 5 months, but this time it last 4.5 months. And I'm using the Panazonic carbon-zinc battery that was recommended to use. It's a shame, since the clock is a good size for place that I have it in the Living Room. So this time I put a Ever Ready Lithium battery in the clock and will see what happens. I was told not to use this battery because it might damage the coil, but after further research, I read where the cheaper clocks made in China, uses cheaper parts and the coil is one part to be concerned about. So overall, the clock runs good until it completely stops. I noticed that it doesn't get slow before it stops, since I check all my clocks on a daily basis again the time standard. I remember last night checking this clock around 22:00 before going to bed, but this morning I woke up and it was dead at 4:30. So if you don't mind changing the battery every 4-5 months, it's a nice clock. But again, I had to deal with adjusting the time with the loose hands and had to compromise between the upside and downside of the hands and face. I think I got it now. I've researched on the Amazon page and placed a similar Howard Miller quart clock in my cart. If this clock stops again, I will purchase the Howard Miller clock. I've had both a Seiko and Howard Miller quartz clock for over 25 years with no problems running on both Alkaline and Lithium batteries. Actually, the Seiko in the Kitchen is still running. I don't mind hearing a ticking clock sound, but the sweep hand is nicer and different. The Howard Miller clock that I am going to eventually buy, is a ticking quartz clock and that's fine.

This clock would make a pleasing addition to any room in your house. It has large numbers that makes it easy to see from the distance. Very simple to set the time, insert the battery and hang.
