Fits over the bridge perfectly and mutes the sound very well. I would say it almost mutes the violin by half. I'm so happy with this purchase because now I can play anytime without disturbing everyone else in the house. It does have a rubbery smell that is very strong when you first open it--it will go away, but not completely. It's not that bad and it's not noticeable when playing. It doesn't leave any marks or residue on the bridge, but I still remove it every time I've finished playing just in case.

Auch das Klang und Spielgefühl bleibt erhalten. Macht direkt Spaß damit und ich kann endlich abends volle kanne spielen. Hab nur übersehen, dass das Ding von weit weit her kommt. Lieferzeit war dann aber wie angegeben. Klare Empfehlung!
