Tough rod. I Like it!
I wanted a telescoping rod to keep in my car. Over the last 3 years I have had 2 other telescoping rods. Both of those shattered under normal fishing conditions. I finally bought the Quantum rod. So far after a year of use, it has been great and held up to all sorts of abuse. The only drawback are the eyes. They can get bent. When they do break, like many do, I am going to buy some of those super tough bendy eyes and tie those on. The rod itself seems to be really tough, which is what is important to me.

Ideal but....
Fabulous concept, but product is quite fragile.

Probably the best light weight telescopic rod
Very light weight with perfect action. Previous reviewers just saying its fragile have to understand its thin graphite that telescopes! It is fragile but has excellent eyelets and for the price you can get 2 or 3. Try stuffing a full size rod in your car or suitcase, it would be fragile too. I have broken other telescopic rods before but that was being too aggressive when hung up or when closing the rod. These are great for travel and in a float tube.

Nice overall but.....
Looks very sturdy and a decent rod. Haven't used it yet but it's a good buy at $22. Just a word of note: When I ordered this, I did not notice the finger rest. The finger rest is mainly for baitcasting or spin casting reels. Unfortunately I only own spinning reels. It does not say this in the description. I should've known better. I can still make it work and it's usable. But it may be a nuisance for others that don't have own small baitcasting or spincasting reel.

Caught several fish on this rod and it worked better than I expected
This rod worked excilent. After reading stories on the internet about this rod, I almost didn't buy it. Fist fish I caught on this rod was a 5lb bass. Caught another 3lb the next day. I went to a confrence where I had heard they had a private stocked lake and we could fish on our own time. Caught several fish on this rod and it worked better than I expected. I now have two. I am not just a week end angler. I fish almost every day if time allows. I'm glad I own this rod for these types of applications.

Fragile Rod
Bought this for my 13 year old for Christmas. He but it near his fishing gear, his backpack rolled over onto it and the pole broke...in less than an hour after opening. After seeing these other reviews I can confirm that this is not a sturdy rod and is fragile. This is the first telescoping rod I've seen, so can't compare to others. Guess for $20 I should have lowered my expectations.

Excellent telescoping baitcasting rod
A well-made little rod. Light weight, sensitive graphite blank. Has a very limber action. Perfect for smaller species.

A good telescopic rod
It is nice and lightweight and compact, which is great as I will use it as a back up rod or to test a different color bait in my kayak. Collapses nice and the handle feels good. My casting reel fit fine. Has a lot of room to adjust for different reel sizes. 18 ยฝ inches when collapsed, perfect to put behind my seat in the storage area on my kayak. The tip is a little thin so you don't want to man handle this rod or it could break. Seems like it will work just fine.

Poor quality, bad design
I've had this rod with my backpacking gear for a couple years now and every time I get in the bush I forget how bad it is. The tip has broken off twice, each time I drilled it out and liquid cemented it back on. The rod is poorly crafted and the sections of the telescope all fit inside each other differently, scratching and getting jammed all the time. Stupid hook thing on the handle, your reel is on the bottom and that hook thing is on top making it super awkward to hold. I took that off with an angle grinder. Spend a bit more, fishing rods get cheaper every year.
