Absolutely genius, A very useful and impressive device!
I ran into this XTAR one day looking for something completely unrelated. Decided to give it a shot, and fell in love immediately. For a few reasons, but mostly because after using it just for a day or two, it was obvious that the designers of this, took a lot of care, and did the research in order to make it remarkable, and it really is. So, full disclosure, I am a vaper. My daily device does use replaceable 18650 Lithium batteries. It can be annoying to try to make sure you have a fully charged one before I set off for the day in the morning. Hence why I had been looking for a device to solve that for me. This is fantastic battery charger, and if you use it just as that, you will be satisfied, it does everything that a standard charger will do. with all the latest safety features so it knocks the battery charger side of things out of the park in my opinion. When it is charging batteries, the info display stays on, not for 30 seconds, or 60, but until its unplugged. It supports fast charging (9v &12v QC) and lets you know when that fast charging is active with the voltage read out. It supports pretty much all sizes of lithium cells I know of other than maybe the extremely short side of the spectrum. It even protects the circuitry from reverse polarity. If you are like me and have the need to charge all kinds of stuff on the go, this is highly recommended.

Definitely works as advertised!
This product really deserves 4.5 stars because of one small issue. I've overcome that by using a soft sponge under the lid to keep the battery from misalignment - this usually happens if you move it around too much. The problem with this is that the PD standard will not work and you will be limited to 5V. Most newer devices can quick charge at 9v but if one of the cells lost contact you will be limited to 5v. I am using unprotected 18650's but remember that protected 18650's are a bit longer and would prove to be a tighter fit. I ordered two of these and use them daily without any issues. I disassembled my old drill power packs and used the 18650's inside. You would not believe how these can accumulate over time especially changing the brand of cordless drill after it fails. Everything is straight forward and self explanatory, you have just one button but you will hardly use it. The device powers on itself and powers off just the same when disconnected. It powers on with very low power draw devices - something I've struggled with on other power banks. The build quality is very good and the display does it's job adequately. I really can't complain and I'm more that satisfied with my purchase.

Great for 21700 not so much for 18650s.
Great for 21700s not so much for 18650. The manufacturer recommends 21700s on their website and it's more so primarily for 21700 and 18650s can also kinda work but this amazing listing doesn't really get that across. If really only plan on using this as a battery charger it's fine for 18650s but as a power bank it's really only useful with 21700s. It's unreliable and constantly stops charging with a slight bump if you try to use 18650s. I've also seen complaints that 21700s don't fit but that's not really the case they are just a bit difficult to get in. If you try to put them in normally it won't fit there's a bit of a technique. You gotta catch the very edge of the pattery with the sprung contact and depress it then you can fit the battery in. It's easy to get in once you know how. Bottom line don't buy this with the intent to use it as an 18650 power bank.

Flexibilty
I really like this battery bank. I like that the batteries are removable / replaceable with the standard 18650 batteries that fit in other items I have like flashlights. I can carry more capacity by just having more batteries to insert. I can use this to charge an 18650 for the flashlight by swapping them around. I can charge this with a portable USB-C solar panel, or in the car or an AC cube. What I wish they would improve is the durability, especially the lid. I drop it and the magnet attached battery compartment lid pops off. I like the magnet. Its slick and simple, but this is something I carry in a pack or pocket and I just drop it once in a while. The magnet ALSO pops out and I have glued it back in several times with epoxy or cyanoacrylate, and it just doesn't stay. A hit still pops the lid and the magnet goes too. Thankfully I haven't lost that tiny magnet yet. I don't hate it, but hopping they read this and maybe make a slightly better lid or a whole new rugged tested version. I think they could make something like this that uses their XTAR Lithium AA/ AAA 1.5 batteries, as a charger AND as a portable bank for charging other electronics. I would sure buy one. I think this an unknown gem for people who like to be prepared.

multipurpose with both 21700 and 18650 batteries
3 uses - charge batteries, charge a phone, or just carry batteries. Works with Lithium 21700 batteries or use the included adapter with 18650 batteries.

Glitchy Unusable and Unpredictable
So I got my hands on two of these units, One I received as a christmas gift and the other I purchased because at first I loved the idea and wanted to have a second unit. After having these for more than a week or two theyve become essentially useless or standard 5v @1-1.5amp chargers. Essentially the issue is that the controller seems to have issues deciding if it wants to take the charge or supply the charge, and the annoyance is the single button doesnt allow you to manually control it either. When I try and charge a device that supports 12v charging (PD/QC3+) it never supplies the power, it initially will charge 12v at maybe 1 amp but after a few seconds it drops dramatically to like .1 amps or lower. Ive tested this across many devices such as my note 9, s8 plus, switch, 2 laptops (that support PD) etc. I do not recommend this for anyone as they seem to have the right idea of a unique charger but completely fail at creating a quality product.

Rest In Peace
Purchased January 24, 2020. Died June 12, 2022. I liked this unit a lot but it seems to have spontaneously died. It powers on briefly but won't receive charge at all and only supplies charge for a few minutes before turning off. I swapped out the cells I had been using for a cell charged on a stand alone charger but the behavior is exactly the same. It seems like the unit itself has failed even though the display still works (briefly before turning itself off) and even though it can provide charge to a device for a few minutes.

Charges 18650s at TERRIFYING rates.
12v @ nearly 3A is way too much for most batteries, and without a proper way to dial back the power input, I would never trust these for anything other than hOhmTech batteries or equivalent quality cells. USBC charging is an awesome feature. Does function as a power pack for charging your devices. Capacity all depends on what cells you utilize.

Great unit but the paint is peeling off and smell
This is too notch charging and there is no competition but the paint pelled off on top and waved on the side still satisfied I was never able to use qc for charging but USB protocol worked at high speed of charging buy it might be a manufacturing mistake or something happened to my units somehow...

Not fast charging and not for 21700
Not very happy: 1, As you can see, the 21700 battery is way longer than the slot, can not be put in as the manufacture's ad, mine is the flathead, I don't know what kind of 21700 they use. 2, Charging speed is 1.4, just normal charging, not fast. 3, My Samsung S20+ is 4500mha, I use two same brand 18650 total 7000 mha, only charge to 60%, so not sure that's the battery or this bank's issue. If you already have lot's 18650 battery, that's good for you, otherwise buy fasting charging power bank
