Circuit breaker switch is marvelous with these quality made guitar cables :)
The circuit breaker on/off switch really made switching guitars easy without turning down volume on amplifier... I tested the right angle 1/4 plug to Gibson LP studio electric guitar and It gave me a solid click and the cable stayed in place very well during the 20 minutes test playing sitting down and playing while walking around in the kitchen . For the Martin GPCPA5 acoustic/electric guitar, the right angle 1/4 plug was pushed in but can't achieve the solid click.. Just flushed tight only .. During my 20 minutes testing, it came loose twice dropping connection ... I know with my Live wire elite 10' cable, I was able to get a solid click connection with both the Martin and the Gibson. I think this is a plug tolerance deviations between various manufacturers. I am happy with the sound quality of this planet wave / D'addario cable. Perhaps if I ever have to go on stage with this cable, I will have to limit my movements so the plug won't come loose with my Martjn guitar. I also noticed this cable tends to tangle into mini loops. Perhaps due to the long length. Prime membership really shined with this shipment. I ordered this cable on Sunday evening and it arrived around 8am Monday morning. I was really shocked of my good karma :)) overall, I like this solidly made cable and the packaging was outstanding too :)

Great cables....
If I would have known I could pick up such a quality cable for the price I got them for I would have got them way sooner! I bought a ten foot circuit breaker cable for guitar to pedalboard and twenty foot custom to amp. Right off the bat I could hear much better tone in the highs for sure with less noise. These cables work so well I purchased two of their custom cabling kits for Pedalboards. Once again more tone clarity and little to no noise. Don't be a fool and spend more these are extremely high quality cables! Now that my complete chain is planet waves cabled I really love the results and my bass player has switched over as well. Since I been only using them for a few weeks and two gigs I can't say how durable they are but I usually get 2 -3 years per cable so that's my benchmark. If they fall short I'll refresh this review to reflect so.

Great cables, freaks out sound engineers...
Nothing freaks out a live sound engineer more than hot-plugging your instruments. But I use this cable in conjunction with my Boss TU-2 pedal to kill my signal. When I play live, I usually bring a few guitars along with me. Different songs call for different sounds, right? So in the middle of my set, I might switch guitars. Although I give warning to my live sound engineers that I'll be doing this throughout the set with signal killing switches in place, this still freaks them out when I unplug my cable. It's kind of funny to watch them freak out in the back of the club and pull my fader all the way down. The sad part is that they never put me back up to where I was, so my guitar ends up being much quieter than the rest of the band. Other than that, this cable sounds great. I've been using them for nearly 8 years and not one has failed me yet. I couldn't recommend them more for your amp -> instrument or pedal -> instrument cable. You won't need this for any other patch other than to the instrument. Don't get one if you need a cable that goes from your amp to your pedal board. That'd be pointless.

Outstanding Cable with Sweet Feature!
I have all Mogami cables and used the Red Nuetrik Silent Plug jack for my guitars. I seen this on sale at an incredible price. So I thought I would give it a shot. The one I received differs from the one they show in ad. I have the 15 foot version and it holds its own with Mogami in a live setting. When I recorded with it, that's when you hear the difference. Not to say it's a bad cable, I'm falling in love with it. But when you're recording, you can see why Mogami is the industry standard. It did a great job recording but not nearly as good as Mogami. When people tell you cheap cables work just as well as the higher end ones, IE; Mogami, Monster, Klotz, George L to name a few, they do not know their cables. That or they are just playing from home or jamming with a small band in the garage. Making an investment in a good cable pays off. With the lifetime warranty, the sound, durability and the quality, you will be paying less and sounding much better in the end. One and you're done. It goes bad, all you do it take it to a local authorized dealer and they will hand you a brand new one. CONCLUSION: I would highly recommend this cable as it does what it says it will and gets rid of that accidental POP when you unplug. You get a really nice tone with it, no tone coloring or hum. It does a fine job when used in a recording setting, but a even better job in a live setting. The more I use this cable when I'm playing live, the more I'm loving it. Sure I love my Mogami with the Nuetrik Silent Plug jack. As for a quality to price ratio, the Planet Waves is an incredible value. With a lifetime warranty, excellent tone, no hum, and durability. I say get one today and never look back.

The new design makes a once-great cable practically useless for its intended purpose
I hate that they destroyed a great cable design. This used to be my absolute cable of choice for use with my electric violin in musical theatre pits. I could "feel" in the dark when the mute was engaged, and warm up for difficult runs without putting sound through to the house. It was also perfect for quickly hot-swapping instruments ... no worries about pops or scrapes from the tip of the connector accidentally making contact with anything. This version of the new design -- the only one the company initially made available -- doesn't have a latching mute button that you can "press and forget" until you are ready to press it again to restore the connection and sound, but only breaks the circuit while you are physically holding down the button. Why? Why did they change this? This new design is essentially useless to me unless I can grow a third hand. After a great many complaints from a very unhappy customer base, I understand the company has released a "latching off" version of the cable that is designed to restore some of the functionality they removed from this version ... but the mute button has been redesigned in such a way that it is no longer "shielded" by rising sides of the plug, and is therefore disconcertingly easy for players of certain types of instrument -- such as guitarists -- to depress accidentally with an arm. I am so mad that something I loved, bought a lot of over the years, and depended on has been re-engineered to be so much less useful. Why buy a company with great products and happy customers and then change the products that made those customers happy? I want the original Planet Waves circuit breaker cables back. :-( I'm looking for an alternate solution. Any suggestions?

You Get What You Pay For. Great Product.
I've had this cable for five years. Works just as good as the day I bought it. For gigs, practicing, and rehearsing the ability to completely mute my base/guitar is indispensable. If you want to leave the amp on while changing instruments, you can use it to prevent the "pop" when you change on a normal 1/4" cable. Other times, I just want to go acoustic for tuning or working out a fingering without interrupting another player. If you need to put your instrument down, you don't need to touch the amp to kill the feedback/hum. My only regret was buying the 90 degree end. It does not go into my telecaster's recessed jack. Perfect for my bass, though. Sometimes I will put one between the pedal board and my amp, allowing me to move pedals around without needing to turn off the amp. And because of the design, you can shorten it/cut out a damaged section and just reattach the end pieces where you need them. With how well this thing has aged, I don't think I'll ever need to buy another.

Great design - love the switch
Update: The right angle switched end started developing crackling issues and is now intermittently cutting out. I've had it just over a month, so Amazon won't help me. Despite the lifetime warranty, Amazon has only offered to let me pay shipping and to give me a partial refund. Despite being an "authorized retailer" for Planet Waves, AMAZON DOES NOT OFFER EXCHANGE UNDER THE PLANET WAVES WARRANTY beyond the standard Amazon 30 day return policy. Amazon support referred me to the manufacturer. I've emailed Planet Waves, but the instructions for the warranty are to return it to a dealer for exchange. I don't have a dealer within 100 miles of my home, so unless the manufacturer comes through, this one is quickly becoming unusable and it looks like it might cost me to resolve it. I frequently switch instruments and this makes it easy to do quietly. I've used cables with the G&H quiet plug (which also works well), but the switched connector on this has an advantage over the G&H- you can use it as a mute and tune with a head stock tuner without unplugging your instrument. The cable itself is a bit stiffer than I'm used to, which makes coiling for storage very easy, but it can quickly become a twisted mess on stage if you more length than you really need. The little elastic cord keeper strap works better than I could ever have imagined. I've never given the sound of a cable a thought, being a bass player who doesn't use much for effects and who plays mostly passive instruments. But using this with my Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2 and fEARful 15/6/1 cab, I really notice a pronounced difference in clarity and dynamics. The sound is much more alive with this over any of the other cables I have from a variety of manufacturers (Hosa, Proco, Whirlwind, etc). I've never had to warranty exchange a PW cable, but others tout the easy swap at any PW dealer as a great reason to buy them. I like knowing that. ** EDIT: AS STATED ABOVE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXCHANGE IT THROUGH AMAZON BEYOND 30 DAYS **
