I used the cleaner on my brown suede jacket. There was NO color change, and it lifted the stain out quite easily with the included brush. The protector takes many, many coats but does eventually repel water a bit but did NOT change the color of the suede. It really wouldn't be practical for coats or boots in the snow or heavy rain. Light flakes and sprinkles should not be an issue after two coats of the protector. You do have to use a LOT in order for it to finally REPEL liquid. I would suggest getting several bottles of the protector along with this kit in order to have enough if you have more than one coat and one pair of boots. I have many pairs of suede boots, knee-high, booties, etc., and there simply wasn't enough to go around with one can. -Amanda A side note: this is a chemical - use it in a well ventilated area or suffer choking on the fumes. Seriously, it is strong while being applied. After it dries, no smell is detected on the material.

The only negative comment I would say there isn't much instruction in the kit. I had to go to YouTube to figure out what did what. But they made a dusty pair of black suede boots look brand new. Protip. Spray them OUTSIDE and let them air out before you bring them in the house. The smell is overbearing.

Worked great! Has some very noticeable black scuffs on my Uggs from someone stepping on them. Used that nifty eraser on them and they were gone. Sprayed them with the water resistance aerosol at the end and they were good to go. Easy.

I used this product on my suede Clarks ( CLARKS Women's Maypearl Juno Ankle Bootie, Mahogany, 8 M US ). The cleaning product didn't really seem to have much of an effect. Granted, my boots were not super dirty, but there wasn't really a change using this product. I used the included brush in lieu of the scrubber cap, and it seems like the bristle side was a bit too much for some areas of the boots (and I may have been too aggressive as well). Little fibers ended up getting pulled up. The protecting product also didn't particularly impress. I put on two coats as instructed, and the boots did seem to 'repel' water for a few days. However, just with normal wear (and only a few light sprinkes), that hydrophobic effect seems gone. I've done this twice now, and the second time did not last any longer than the first. I also noted that the protector left a distinct smell (dissipated after ~24 hours) and changed the texture of the boots slightly. As the texture returned to normal, the hydrophobic effect diminished. Overall, I do not think this product will 'waterproof' suede products to the point where I can go jumping in puddles, but it will provide enough protection that I don't worry about "ruining" my boots if I get caught in a light shower.

Got a pair of Jim Green Rangers in fudge crazy horse months ago and they got a little too wet and after drying, the leather looked dried out and chapped. Brushing it did nothing. I had to get something more for my new boots. Seen this brand in the grocery store, find them in about any shoe store and people had good things to say. I wanted the leather to keep as close to its original patina, I didn't want them to darken permanantly. Let me tell you this kit has all you need. Directions on the cans were clear and easy to follow. After each step, and giving it some time, my boots looked almost brand new, and water doesnt seem to affect the leather, dries off fast. I wouldn't bet on the water resistant spray to waterproof your boots, or even repel it off like rainx but some morning dew or spilled water will dry off quick without damaging the leather or permanantly changing the patina.
