MASTEY 36oz

I've been looking for a gentle, yet moisturizing shampoo for my natural mostly 4a (4b (in the crown) hair. I was browsing at Marshall's and came across Traite Cream Shampoo...for $5.99/16oz! I liked the consistency and the ingredient list, for the most part, so I decided to purchase it. I JUST washed my hair with it for the first time on Sunday and I LOVE it! My hair was soft, and tangle-free (MOST important for retaining length)! I'm going to go back to Marshall's to see if it's there but if it's not I will DEFINITELY come on here and purchase it. ***UPDATE***I've been using this shampoo since I first posted my above review, and it STILL gets my vote. I wash once a week and I love the fact that I can run my fingers through my coils DURING AND AFTER shampoo! That has NEVER happened before. I have not had any allergic reactions or dry scalp. My hair feels clean but not stripped. It's almost time for me to get some more and I will be purchasing it on Amazon... I have yet to see it at Marshall's or TJMaxx again :(. ***Another update-4/17/11*** I still didn't see it at Marshall's or TJMAXX, but I did purchase this big bottle on Amazon. I used standard shipping and the package arrives in 3 days.I still LOVE this shampoo. ****Another Update- 7/10/2015*** I've tried a couple other Shamps and I still LOVE this Shampoo.

BEST SHAMPOO EVER! This is the best stuff I have ever used on my colored (highlighted) hair. So rich & creamy, but doesn't weigh my hair down. Used with the same brand's conditioner & you've got a match made in heaven. I have fine hair, but a lot of it. When I started to use this shampoo, my hair had been through the mill and quite damaged. This has brought it back to life. I will continue to use this for as long as it is available. Very high quality and safe for colored hair - no sulfates. Highly recommend, you only need 2 pumps to do your entire head, so this size bottle is a great value.

Turns out I’m allergic to SLS. This is an SLS free shampoo and after years of rash and dandruff on my head, I’m free and clear. This is a great shampoo. My Dad used it decades ago and it did the same for him. Something jogged my memory so I looked for it on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was still available, made by the family of the original owner.

I too have used this product for almost 20 years. I tried other saloon products but nothing has touched Mastey. When I was younger, I had very oily skin. Most conditioners left so much residue on your hair that it would have oil streaks. Mastey's Frehair does not cause any of the oily problem, yet makes hair soft, silky and easy to brush/comb. I have recommend Mastey's products to several people. Those who bought it still use it. The company makes a other products for other types of hair conditions. I buy the Smooth conditioner for one daughter whose hair tangles more and is more prone to damage. Addition 9-20-2015 Traite has changed their masking fragrance which used to be a faint coconut smell that did not linger. I have allergic reactions to fragrances. Traite has changed to natural oil for their masking fragrance. It is sweet smell that lingers in your hair and on your hands. The company confirmed this way the shampoo smells different and has different texture. I can get fragrance free from them, but I have to wait a month. When they make a new batch they get me a bottle of shampoo without the oil they use for masking fragrance. If fragrances are not an issue then it will make not difference. If it is a problem, go to mastey.com and contact the company. They do promptly response to emails. UPDATE: the company has taken down their website. I usually order from them. So not to get phony product. OR too old a product. I have ordered from beauty vendors. Sometimes I would get shampoo that was watery, If you look at it you can see partials , this is emulsion separating. It was old. Anything you by now will old.

I have used Mastey's Traite shampoo for 20+ years. It is one of the few moisturizing shampoos I have found that does not irritate my reactive scalp. The product always had a very soft coconut fragrance The first bottles I purchased from Malaka Beauty also had the sot coconut fragrance I am used to. However, the bottle I purchased from Malaka Beauty in September 2022 and just opened has a different, less pleasing fragrance. I don't know if the manufacturer changed the fragrance or what. The product just isn't the same.

I, too, used Mastey products when I was much younger. I loved this product so much. I have shoulder length, very baby fine brown hair, and I believe no matter what type of hair you have, the traite shampoo, and the moisturee conditioner, with a superpac treatment once a month, will keep anyone's hair in great, healthy, shape. I have a loose body wave in my hair, and it is working out perfectly, with these products. I couldn't be happier. I can use my blow dryer on low, and my curling iron on low, and get the loose body waves I love. Thank You Mastey Products, and Amazon for having this available. Love Love Love it!!

I have been using this shampoo for over 2 decades and since a new family member took over the company about 2 years ago the quality has gone down. It is thinner and doesn't stay mixed well, but still gives a good lather and has all the good stuff in it and none of the bad. That's why a didn't give it lower than a 4 rating-there is nothing on the market like it that I know of. Wish the company would honor their clients instead of insulting them with inferior product.

I have been a loyal customer of Mastey which in my opinion was the best hair care products in the world. The deep moisturizing Super PAC was the absolute best. Now Mastey is apparently gone. Someone in the USA owns it now and all the products are discontinued. Very sad.

Amazing product, great service!!

This product is NOT the original Mastey Traite Cream Shampoo, its is curdled with suds, it is not the original shampoo and it is NOT the cream shampoo, the scent is not the same either. I have used this product for over 20 years and I have two bottles previously purchased in store, the real Mastey Traite Cream Shampoo, its thick, creamy smooth with a pleasant scent. I do not recommend purchasing this product from Urban Inspirations.
