Easy to understand instructions
Just finished installation in our RV. Would suggest Renogy consider a WiFi solution for remote access to monitor your batteries remotely. Ours is in storage many months and would like to have the convenience factor! Other than that running the monitor wire took the majority of time, just because itβs labor intensive! Installation was straightforward and a piece of cakeβ¦not only that but it worked the first time!!!!

Accurate and dependable
This meter is much more accurate than my Bluetooth app that came with EG4 WP 48V-100Ah battery, which only updates every 5 seconds and doesnβt tell you that they βhold back15% of the battery capacity. Itβs got variable illumination modes and every metric is configurableβ¦though itβs a little too easy to hold the up arrow and reset battery meter in the middle of your cycle. The other reviews are correct that the + wire to the battery is tiny and the hole in the shunt seems tiny-erβ¦it will eventually fit if you have patience and make sure the set screw is backed ALL THE WAY OUT (keeeeep turning). Itβs best to do this part first, before you mount everything so you can get to, and still see, the tine hole. Also, the posts on the 500Amp version are enormous so get ready to buy some huge ring terminals to fit as all load has to pull through the shunt so youβll want to combine several load wires per connector. Also, they donβt tell you but youβll need some big power wire as itβs not included (see pics-I had an old winch power wire that I cut to fit). I would definitely purchase again.

Love these battery monitors!
I have 2 of these. Simple to set up: 1. Attach the shuntβs -B end to the batteryβs negative terminal 2. Attach the red wire to the batteryβs positive terminal and the wiring block on the shunt. 3. Connect your load to the batteryβs positive terminal and to the -P terminal on the shunt. 4. Plug in the display. 5. Change the parameters in the display to match your batteryβs specifications. I designed and 3D printed a stand for the display so I can put it wherever I want instead of having to permanently mount it.

Great unit for the price
This battery monitor is a value for the money. It is simple, but gets the job done. My favorite features is the it includes a 500a shunt and a long signal wire. This makes the installation easy. Other great features is the display showing voltage, amp hours remaining, amps going in/out and total time to full charge/discharge. The screen has multiple levels of brightness and pulses when it's charging. The only thing lacking is connectivity to other renogy devices and apps. Overall I would recommend this compared to more expensive units such as the balmar battery monitor (which I have as well)

Tips on lengthening Battery Monitor Shielded Wire.
So we ordered this Renogy Battery Monitor for our travel trailer. Overall it's a nice unit, but it can be a bit frustrating to set it up. One issue we faced was the length of the shielded wire from the shunt to the monitor. It is only about 19.6 feet long and we needed to add another 16 feet to it. The wire is not something that you go and pick up at any big box store. It's a tiny 26AWG with a shield around it. But we discovered that Amazon also sells a 26 feet version of this exact wire. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082ZPGYHZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details So we ordered the wire and sure enough it's the exact size and specs. as the Renogy wire. The only difference if that one end of the plug does not fit the Renogy. So, we used the end that fits the Renogy, then carefully cut the wire to the desire length and spliced it to the wire we had. It is important to take your time and be super careful when you cutting those tiny wires. It is best to solder them together and tape them good with electrical tape. Make sure you connect the shielded wired together too. Our works great and without any issues.

Must have!
Ran out of battery in my RV on a cold night. Bought 2 x 300A Lithium batteries plus this monitor. It was awesome to keep track of what was using how much power and how much the solar was being generated. I was able to show my kid how to read it and understand how are usage adds up. A must have for off grid!

Be in the know! At a glance!
Great! It tells you in and out wattage and voltage really nice to see what the sun is doing and how youβre using it. And how long you can use it. Thatβs a big one! And how long to charge it. easy to install I like it

Perfect battery monitor
The 300ah lithium battery I purchased did not have Bluetooth capabilities so this shunt was a must have works perfect no issues

Works great for me applications, boat and rv with this you control your battery power accurate, what is going out, and what is coming in

What did I like ? - the fact that everything you need comes in the kit. Wire(s), shunt, gauge just plug and play. Itβs easy, then it all comes alive. Great ! ππ

Works just as it should. Good quality and easy to install. Super useful, sensitive and accurate. Love being about to see what is going on with our battery. Weather we have a small load, we left something on or wondering if the solar is charging or not. Since your solar might not keep up with your demand: the solar charger along wont tell you if your battery is charging or not. You still need a battery monitor. I recommend this with or without solar if you are relying on battery status in anyway.

Most people are using LiFePO4 batteries these days, for that reason it would be really good to have another alarm setting for high voltage which this current version does not have. This way you can set something like 13.8v and when charging reaches that I can just stop the charger. For me I'm using a NOCO Charger and have no way to stop charging unless I want the batteries 100% full and charging to 14.5v. You might ask why I don't want to charge to full and the answer is for a few reasons. 1) If you charge between 10% to %90 for LiFePO4 you increase the cycle life from what I've read. A 3000 cycle battery might be 4500 cycles with that small change. 2) If there is a cell out of balance and its slightly higher in voltage than the others, your always going to push that one cell to its limit and that can degrade the battery health. One of my 12v batteries has the BMS cutting charging off at 13.9v which is before the NOCO charger completes charging. So what happens is a loop where the BMS cut power and the NOCO charger jumps to 19v and shows voltage error, once the BMS times out charging starts again and the cycle repeats. Not great. 3) Its easier on all the electronics. When a battery is full the resistance goes up. Stopping charging early saves heat and stress to some of the components in the battery BMS and charger circuits. The last improvement for the battery monitor would be to have ability to set it to re-calibrate the shunt AH reading every time you charge to a set voltage. Currently you need to manually set the top and bottom voltage and the total AH. So over some charge cycles there will be a drift. If I set my completion of charge to 13.8v it could reset each time it hits that voltage so I start with 100ah count down from there for example. With LiFePO4 you can not use voltage to figure out capacity accurately unless its at the top of the charge curve where its starting to shoot up rapidly so this would need to be something stated in the manual but for the people that know it would work well.
