Performance Tool W1657C Deluxe Battery Tester , Black, Test 6V, 12V and 24V batteries

I purchased this item. I have a decent sized solar setup. Ten, 275 watt panels in two arrays feeding 3 groups of batteries. My old group, powered by 1100 watts, consists of twelve, 6 volt FLA batteries in three banks of 24 volt each. These need the occasional maintenance refill, so monthly that means 36 cells get checked and filled. Using the old “funnel method” works, but to be honest, it sucks. I used to use fillers like this 55 years ago when I was a kid working in gas stations (remember those?). They worked and to be honest I don’t know why I haven’t gotten one before now. So, it works, it fills the cells to the proper level and makes my life easier. I will give it 5 stars for now, as it fits my needs and matches the product description. If in the future it breaks or fails, then I will return to this review and update. Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review. My goal is to provide other potential customers as much real-world knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. In most cases I will return to my review in 6 months or less to see if I should alter my original observations. In no case will the cost of a product influence my opinions at all. In addition, I will try to include multiple images and or videos on each product, if practical.

It works as it was advertised. I use the filler to check/fill my golf cart batteries. Easy to use. No problems.

Works OK but I wish it had a way to see how much water remains in it. It is not heavy so still able to use it easily when full.

With this filler holding distilled water, you push the nozzle down into the opening at the top of the battery. The automatic shut-off valve stops the flow of water when the appropriate level has been reached. This simple tool has been in use for decades because it works so well. This avoids overflowing your battery and getting battery acid on the tops of the batteries or into the battery case area of your golf cart, boat, or even car. This is a small price to pay for the protection of your battery and the ease of use.

Maintenance-Required Batteries actually have better long-demand service characteristics than Maintenance-Free Batteries so on my basement Sump Pump battery-backup system I installed a maintenance-required battery. The system has an electronic monitor/warning device to remind me so that's good. But this simple Battery Filler makes the task faster, easier, and error-free - especially considering my backup system is tucked away in a hard-to-access understairs closet. Buy it. You'll thank me. (Use distilled water!)

Why, oh why, did I never purchase one of these before? After years of using a bottle of water with a funnel and mirror (to see better inside my RV bay), this filler is a dream come true. Quick and easy, with no spillage.

Broke first time in use! The spring that is in the nozzle came apart and cannot be put back together. The spring is what controls the water flow

Nice long filler tube for batteries with a tall cap, but not sure how accurate the SG reading is. I can compare cells to each other easily now, but readings compared to what they should be are consistently low.

Works good, plug it in at any time to get a reading.

Depends on individuals. Its an item worth keeping at home if you know how to use it. handy and good.

Utilisé pour le plein de mes batteries acide sur mon E-Gator 48V. On est sensé refaire l'appoint d'eau distillée après chaque recharge (!). LEs systèmes de raccord multi-batteries sont hors de prix. Je recommande ceci. Vous aurez besoin d'environ 30cm d'espace au-dessus de la batterie pour que la buse de remplissage soit à l'équerre . Il n'y a plus de débordement ni de goutte. On ne sait pas vraiment quand la batterie a fini de se remplir à moins de regarder fréquemment, mais si l'environnement est silencieux, on peut entendre les bulles cesser de s'évacuer dans la bouteille lorsque le niveau est atteint. L'essentiel est de maintenir le niveau au-dessus du plomb
