GAME CHANGER
This reel is a freaking GAME CHANGER. If you have an original plastic paterson tank reel and hate loading 120, this is for you. my experience is that it doesn't snag the film every 0.005 seconds like the original does and the loading process is So much easier. I dont know what some people are talking about with the build quality, the build quality is honestly double that of the OEM paterson spool i feel

Works OK, Won't Last
This reel feels horribly cheap compared to a Patterson reel. It's easy to accidentally align it crooked when snapping it back together for 120 film. Loading film onto it is okay, but slow going. But, it does the one thing that I bought it for: enable me to use two rolls of 120 and ensure they don't overlap via the red tab. It's slow going to get the first roll all the way to the end of the reel. I find that I need to hold the edge in place while ratcheting the reel. But, it works.

Easy to load
If you are looking for a reel, look closely at the spot where you load your Ilford. haha I mean film. You may notice the over sized ramp like additions. Let me tell you, those little things make it so easy, you could load your film in the dark! Haha, kidding aside it's a great product.

Work way better than the Patterson reels
I spent a year working off the standard Patterson reels. Always was a struggle keeping film on the reel through to the final frame/entirety of the length. I just finished my first load with two of these eTone reels and it was fast, easy, and smooth. So much wasted time in sweaty film bags struggling with the old reels, always seeming to get fold marks on the edges when developed. Very happy to have replaced the Pattersons with these.

Flimsy
The first time I used it, it worked fine, but (similar to others’ comments) after that the film kept getting stuck about half way around the first rotation. So frustrating- and way too expensive for such a flimsy piece of equipment.

WAY better than Patterson Reels - especially for 120 film
The lip is a HUGE help when loading thin 120 size film. I received two reels and will likely order two more, just so I have them. Take up same space/size as original Patterson reels, but the extra plastic lip makes it so much easier to guide the film onto the grove thru the ballbearings. Highly recommend.

Perfect!
With the original Patterson reels it was always a chore loading 35mm film but with 120 it was a pain ratcheting the film on. The ramp on these reels is nice and wide and makes loading the film on a BREEZE.

This reel makes loading 120 film very easy. I bought it specifically for 120 because I find 35mm pretty easy to load anyway. I turned off the lights and had the 120 film on the to spool in seconds after I removed the backing paper, first try.
