I read other reviews before ordering and still bought them mainly due to the price and potential. First, ditch the reflectors. There is a Philips screw that fastens the clamp. Loosen it and pull off the reflector. Next, loosen the bearings just the tiniest bit. Mine were way too tight and would barely turn. Heck, while you're doing that, why not put some new grease in? Pry off the little cap opposite the threads and you'll find the nut that holds it together. Lastly, as others have described, the toe clips were smashed down due to the unfortunate factory packaging. I took an 8" piece of 2x4 lumber, removed the clips from the pedals and slid them onto the long narrow side of the wood. Press them on tight until they are almost as far as they can go, with the tops angling up about 45 degrees. Use a small wood screw in the middle mounting hole to hold it in place. I put them side by side. Heat some water to or near boiling in a large pot or bowl. Remove from heat and put the 2x4+toeclips assembly into the hot water. Use something heavy to hold it under water. A smaller pot or bowl will do. Leave it alone till the water cools. Then remove and let it dry. Unscrew the clips and they're back in shape.Four stars because the pedals feel like they should be wider and I can't mod that. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good set of pedals at a reasonable price *by D***L on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2015* I bought these to replace the cheap pedals that came with my fixed gear bike, which finally broke. This was the least expensive option I could find that had largely positive reviews, so I figured that I might as well try them out.They are a lot more comfortable than my last set of pedals - looking at the pictures, I thought they would be flimsy, but they seem to be pretty sturdily constructed. They screwed into my cranks pretty easily (I always lubricate the threads and use a pedal wrench), and I was up and running. The platforms are big enough for my feet, and they distribute my weight evenly and don't gouge into my foot like some other pedals (I ride them with regular street shoes since this is on my commuter bike).It is a bit difficult to get into the clips for now (since I can't stop pedaling to hold them open like I could on a geared bike), but I've managed to get in after a few tries. I find that most pedals with toe clips are like this when new, and I'm sure that they will stretch out over time.Overall, seems like a pretty good set of pedals for a reasonable price. I ride 13 miles to work and back and these clips really allow me to transfer energy from down crank to up crank for maximum speed and longevity.My only complaint is in the design. There are reflectors on the bottoms of the pedal (not pictured) that break off when you step on them. If you could always start riding with your foot in the two clip then this would not be a problem. But, in traffic, when stopped at a red light, once it turns green you don't have time to place your foot perfectly in the clip before pedaling through the intersection.
