Sleek Design with Plenty of Storage
Sleek Design with Plenty of Storage This SanDisk Ultra Luxe 256GB USB 3.1 drive has been a solid performer for me. The all-metal casing feels sturdy and has a nice weight in hand, so it doesn’t come across as flimsy like some plastic drives. Its compact size makes it easy to keep on a keychain or in a laptop bag, and I appreciate that it doesn’t feel bulky even though it packs a generous 256GB of storage. In use, transfer speeds have been consistently fast for everyday tasks like moving videos, photos, and large documents. While it won’t quite match an SSD, for a flash drive it’s quick and reliable. The fact that it’s USB 3.1 means it works great on modern laptops, but it’s also backward compatible with older USB ports, which I’ve tested on a few different machines without any issues. One thing to be mindful of is that the all-metal design can get a little warm during prolonged transfers, but nothing concerning. The drive also doesn’t have a protective cap, so if you’re prone to tossing it into dusty pockets or bags, you may want to attach it to a keychain loop for better protection. Bottom line: A reliable, fast, and well-built USB drive with plenty of space. Ideal if you want something compact and stylish that can still handle larger files without slowing down.

Great quality, average performance
This flash drive performs very average to maybe slightly above average in terms of speed. The build quality is extremely nice and solid metal, I prefer these drives for this reason alone. Because they are metal and very small, they do get extremely hot to a point where I cannot touch it without burning myself. They appear reliable so far, I've been using one of these drives for my SMB server which is on 24/7 and loads PlayStation games so it's not exactly an easy life either. I recommend these if you have the means but overall any other cheaper drive will do just as good.

Fast, reliable and portable - my go-everywhere flash drive
This flash drive was purchased to replace my older yet still reliable 16GB SanDisk USB 2.0 flash drive. This new one was absolutely the right choice for several reasons. The metal housing is very durable; it fits on my keychain thanks to the loop on the end; the size is not too large or small; file read and write speeds are incredibly fast; the PrivateAccess software keeps my important files safe and encrypted; the price is very reasonable for the large capacity. One note is the metal housing can get warm when connected for an extended period of time. One simply cannot go wrong with this well-designed, fast, reliable and useful flash drive.

Reliable USB Drive That Still Works Great
I’ve been using this SanDisk flash drive for more than 3 years and it has been very reliable. It does get a little warm during use, especially when transferring large files, but so far it has never failed me. It still works perfectly and the performance has been consistent over time. Overall, a very good USB drive and definitely worth it for long-term use.

Benchmark attached. Works great for me.
I've been largely satisfied with SanDisk products over the last 20 years, and this drive lives up to expectations. I like this formfactor, and the capacity & price were both right for me. One of the reasons the casing is metal on drives like this is to act as a heatsink for internal components; it is normal for this to get warm or hot to the touch in my experience. I would rather the heat dissipate as designed than have the chips fail. SanDisk also honors the 5-year warranty on this, and I have no doubt they will follow through as they have the few other times I have had to file a claim with them. I did a large file copy test, and yes, the initial transfer speeds were fast, but it slowed way down as the job progressed. However, the job still finished with no problems. It still transferred ~100GB in an hour or so. I then let the drive cool and performed a speed test from a USB 3.1 gen2 port, and it surpassed expectations. Benchmark results from a USB 3.0 port were also great.

Compact little Flash Drive, great value, tight fit
Corners were a little tight and had some trouble connecting it to several devices. Finally forced it into a slot after an hour or so of fidgeting with it. Great speed transfers, but gets really hot up quickly. Not really an issue so far as the ,metal casing helps with heat and protects it well. I use it to store various movies and 4k videos for TV screensaver. Over 100GB of videos transferred in less than an hour.

Good product
As always, high-quality product from SanDisk. I was a loyal customer of this brand for many, many years. Maybe there is something like... I don't remember if I had it with the previous ones, but this one... It does get warmish, but not hot, when you write stuff on it. And when I work on it from my computer and when I press SAVE, it takes a few seconds... Computer freezes for a few seconds when it saves it. So if I have to press SAVE often enough, it can be quite inconvenient. So I sometimes just choose to work on files saved on my computer and then save the final files onto the USB, instead of working with the files directly on the USB itself. Other than that, it's a high-quality product, and I'm quite happy.

A Flash Drive That Looks Like It Should Come With Its Own Security Team
I picked up the SanDisk 256GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.1 drive, and honestly, this thing looks so sleek I feel like I should be storing top‑secret files on it. The all‑metal design is solid, shiny, and gives off strong “I’m more expensive than I actually am” energy. Performance? Smooth. Fast transfers, no drama, no mysterious lag that makes you question your life choices. Plug it in, move your files, done. It’s the kind of reliability that makes you wonder why every flash drive isn’t built like this. The 256GB capacity is perfect — enough space for videos, photos, documents, and probably a small emotional support folder of memes. And because it’s metal, it feels like it could survive a mild apocalypse. If you want a USB drive that’s compact, classy, and performs like it’s trying to get promoted, this is the one. Absolutely thrilled.
