Yes, this case is expensive, but it is inexpensive insurance to protect your investment. The multi-layer design protects from the impact of drops and bumps. Don't be fooled by other cases that are a single layer design using hard plastic (cough...Encased); they don't protect. The OtterBox Defender has a soft cushion layer that goes up against your device, followed by a harder plastic layer, and wrapped over that is the outer rubberized plastic layer that absorbs most impacts from the beginning. This combination is proving the be highly effective. The case is on the larger side but not as large as what would be expected for the amount of protection it provides. It feels like a quality product in the hand. The texture isn't tacky, nor is it slick. So far, this Purple Nebula color case is resiting skin oils, dirt, and staining. The holster also feels like a quality product. It has a solid sound and feel to it when adjusting the tilt of the clip or when securing/removing the phone. It does work with the Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector, but a slight mod may need to be made to the case if you find it to be lifting your dome glass. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VJL9GWL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 After installing the Whitestone Dome Glass on a Galaxy Note 10 Plus, I found the top left corner of the glass wanting to lift. This was easily remedied by taking the case off and using a sharp knife or utility razor to trim less than 1/32" off of the part that contacts the glass. Such a tiny amount of plastic needed to be trimmed off that it has not in no way affected the functionality of the case, nor is it even noticeable even when looking for it. See the attached photo. I've used this case for about two weeks and this includes being used when doing construction and building maintenance. So far it is a keeper. Just for the record, I purchased this case and am writing this review of my own volition.

Arrived on time. Seller title leaves a little confusion as note 10 plus isn't 5G capable. Usually, the description would be for the model phone it fits. No issue with 4G or wireless charging.

The best case I've ever had for my phone! I've dropped it, banged it, tossed around in my backpack/purse, everything..it's protected it.This is the 3rd time I've purchased it. First time I bought it for my note 5 & it lasted till I bought a new/different phone. 2nd one I bought and lasted 2yrs I recently dropped it on pavement. The hard inner case cracked but it stayed on the phone and protected it. Outer case was fine and absorbs most of the hit*** Had no issues, no cracked screen due to the outer case. I kept it on for months till I bought the 3rd. My phone still looks new! The case makes it easy to hold because you can grip the phone from any angle and it won't slip out of your hands. The clip is cool too, it's heavy duty.

I would have to say the Otterbox products seem to be pretty nice and well thought out. This Defender case 3 piece design has the plastic housing (2 piece snap together) then the rubber outer cover to lock it in. When it is all put together it is very nice and sturdy. I had another case for my old phone which utilized the rubber cover and then the plastic frame on the outside but this otterbox defender series seems better. The design is very nice and all the speaker, mic, charging/connection and pen ports are easily accessible. The outer rubber cover is nice and the phone doesn't slide around on slick surfaces. The camera cut out is contoured and looks well placed. Some rubber products deteriorate and get sticky over time. I hope this doesn't happen to this one and since Otterbox is a reputable product manufacturer I would choose them first over others. The included belt clip, (I am one of the few that still likes this design) works well with the case and the phone can be inserted either way without any button interference. The only possible issue is that you have to make sure it "snaps" into the belt clip to secure where as another one I had just popped in and I knew it was in place. I can't say that it will protect my phone from a fall and I don't know about any others but I don't want to find out either. Overall a very good case and it is worth the money to protect your costly phone of today.

After having a design issue with the previous case I'd purchase for my Note 10+, I decided to purchase one of these cases. I've been familiar with otterbox cases in the past having purchased a previous version of this same case for an older device. It does add a bit of extra heft to an already large device, however, the durability of the case and rugged protection system is definitely worth the extra cost. The only negative with the case is the ease of which dust and dirt can get into the crevices of the case due to the need to omit the built-in screen protector of the same case that's present on older phones. I find that it's necessary to take apart the top layer of the case at least once every couple of weeks to give it a thorough clean, it's a minor inconvenience though. This is definitely a great case overall

Only case type I use for all our phones. Tablet cases are great as well

Had mine for 2 years and 4 months. With many drops onto a carpeted floor, the inner top frame clips crumble with each impact. What has really made me purchase another Otterbox Defender tonight is: The rubber power button tab has eroded from within, it misses the phones power button quite often and has just become too much of an annoyance. I have bought everyone in my family one of these Defender cases. I swear by them. I have left the phones original film protectors on, as I do with all my devices, I don't like shiny reflective surfaces and it saves buying umpteen screen protectors, that are flawed in their applications very often. I never use the hard plastic belt clip thingy. I would prefer more durability in the other plastics, for the sake of the belt clip. If you want to protect your phone from drops, buy one of these, you may become disappointed after two years service but in my book; It's still cheaper than insurance and the inconvenience. I am just so pleased to be able to buy a replacement. Update: The new Otterbox Defender is remarkably different, in that the rubber is firmer to manipulate and much tauter. The swelling of the old cover is almost like the texture of saggy Play-doh. It has been kept in a fleece pocket alone or a polyester beanie head sock when plugged in the car. Other viewers have noted(sic) the lack of protection to the stylus port. The two clips closest are vulnerable, with constant use of removing/replacing the pen. I doubt any IKEA-style R&D has gone into this area. *The chair demonstration of constant flexing.* The tugging and stretching at the charging port cover somehow allows UV light in to erode the fastenings, as they become brittle very quickly. Finding them in your pocket after falling through the stylus aperture, a replacement needs ordering. I can see how an impact of this area, can with a punching force, create flexion on the corner of the top frame. I know this because the pen pops out and that usually takes some force to get it out to use. It's a weakness but not deserving of an overall rating of one star. This cover has not been subjected to anything of a chemical nature and no one else uses my phone. It isn't allowed in the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom or workshop. I now have a comparison to judge when the cover needs replacing. Only time lasts forever! Hope you have a good day.
