If you like touchpads, this is a great option
PROSGood responsive touchpadRight-click made easy through the upper-right cornerBuilt-in scrolling featureSmall backstand allows the unit to sit at an angleCONSHardware buttons are not the best (noisy to press but far better than the "EasyCat" model)I prefer touchpads to mice in that they require less space and are easy for me to use either left or right-handed. Touchpads are a personal thing and I find that people's opinion of them are quite polarized. If you're the type that enjoys using them, then this is a pretty good option. The surface is quite responsive and by clicking up in the right-hand corner, you can easily simulate right-click buttons. The lower horizontal edge and the rightmost vertical edge provide horizontal and vertical scrolling. If you install the Adesso software, then you can also use the leftmost vertical edge for zooming and the upper edge for back/forward functionality (e.g. can be used for internet browsing). I believe there are a couple of other features that can be customized with the software, but I skipped it altogether and just settled for the mousing action with right-click and scrolling capability. For me, driver software can clutter and complicate a system and the added features aren't important to me (I take the same approach with Logitech and Microsoft keyboards/mice in that I prefer to just use the device without the drivers). If you are looking to use the extra features, make sure you check the vendor website to determine if drivers exist for your OS.The size of the unit is larger than other similar models from the same maker and to some, it may feel like there's a lot of wasted space. For what it's worth, I also own the "EasyCat" model (Adesso USB EasyCat 2-BTN Touchpad Black Cirque Glidepoint Technology ( GP160U-121 )) which I believe is inferior to the "BrowserCat" for a number of reasons. While the touchpad action between these two units is identical and the smaller size of the "EasyCat" makes it more portable, it's also more difficult to balance on a variety of surfaces than the "BrowserCat" and its buttons are unusable (too hard to click). The "EasyCat" cord placement (right side instead of top side) also limits its ability to be used left-handed without requiring extra space. Finally, this "BrowserCat" unit has a small stand in the back allowing it to be propped at a slight angle (the "EasyCat" does not have this). This stand combined with its size allows me to place the unit squarely over the number keypad on my keyboard (this allows me to sit the keyboard on my lap with easy access to the touchpad without the use of a lapdesk or other surface). All that said, this "BrowserCat" is my standard pointing device at home and the "EasyCat" is my portable device for road use.

Works fine but cord frays
I've been using addeso's mouse pad's for over 20 years. Sadly I can't find better as they only last about a year before the cable, right at the base of the pad frays. This one flaw means I never get more than a year out of what is a fairly expensive mouse pad. If you are handy with soldering, you can cut out the bad part and give it a bit more life (see online tutorials) but for most this is not in the cards. There is one other problem in that the mouse will stop working if you get any kind of fluid on your fingers while using it. keep a cloth around to keep your fingers clean. If it acts up just pull the usb plug to reset it.

Very Handy Device
Needed to rest my right elbow due to some likely tendon damage but couldn't get the hang of the mouse in my left hand; this touchpad was the perfect solution. I can navigate easily and click the correct buttons with assurance. The touchpad allows a tap to work as a left button click and it requires the perfect amount of force for my liking, which is a little bit more than most laptop touchpads I've used, which always seemed overly sensitive. I've also been able to leave my mouse plugged in for my right hand when I need a little more precision for CAD work (right hand being more precise). I would have given it 5 stars if I could have sped up the cursor travel as I have two screens, thus requiring a little more time to traverse. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Not pleased (warranty is scam)
PUrchased this unit buttons click sound very loud. The pad its self you have to tap pretty hard for it to respond. I kept it at the time it was my only option. After 6 months this touchpad has gone crazy it just stops working and have to unplug it to get it to work. Also when it does work the cursor just randomly jumps onthe screen. The warranty after days back and forth filling out for they want me to pay to send touchpad back and for me to pay for the return of a new touchpad. What kind of warranty is that.

Excellent Touchpad for People with Wrist Pain
As a user of Adesso touchpads for going on over 5 years, I believe this review is long overdue. In one sentence: This touchpad is awesome!I used to use traditional mice for browsing and computer work, but years ago, my wrist pain (could be carpal tunnel, who knows) grew so bad that even the softest click mouse caused me great pain.I researched all kinds of mice, and then realized that there was an external touchpad genre which acted like the touchpad on a laptop. This was great news, but many of them were pricey and some were geared towards using a stylus.I just wanted a responsive and economically friendly solution for my wrist pains. I finally stumbled on the Adesso company and their highly rated touchpads. I was skeptical at their reasonable prices at first, thinking this is probably going to be a cheap product that would last months.I was dead wrong! My Adesso touchpad has lasted years without a hitch. It was so durable, in fact, that I bought a second for a different desktop I utilize. But beyond the durability of the product, the best part is the responsiveness of the pad which is a direct correlation to the alleviation of my wrist pain by using it.I don't know where I would be without this product (well, probably paying more for a touchpad that may not work as well or last as long!).I believe for all those with wrist pain this is a godsend. And for anyone who is just looking for a reliable touchpad to supplement (or even flat out replace!) their mouse, this is a great product.PROS: Cheap, Durable, ResponsiveCONS: None come to mindVERDICT: Buy one! Or Two like I did! You won't be sorry.
