Beastclamp Rig - Universal Smartphone clamp, Tripod Mount, Professional rig from Beastgrip

Very sturdy because it is heavy! There's nothing wrong about that if you're a professional that have some serious work to do with your camera. However, if you're just some Regular Joe like me that just wants to record some friend events or even a short hike, you might want to stick with a Joby clamp. Especially if you need to travel overseas and you don't want something that adds weight to your carry on or put you over the limit for the check-in, you'll need to consider if you really need something a Beastclamp to get the job done.

This is a great rig for photo and video media creation. The rig is all aluminum construction and it is very sturdy and durable.The rig has hot shoe adapters, and threaded mounts for all your accessories. I use this mainly for a video light panel and a microphone. I have an iPhone XS Max with a thick protective case, and The phone mount securely holds my phone with case. Media content created with this rig is much better. Video is smoother and I have better control. With the inclusion of my accessories, my photos and video have a much better look and quality, well lit and better sound. This rig has a direct reflection on my work and production. The rig is not very light, and the handles are a little short for my liking, I can only get three fingers around them. When I add my phone, light panel and microphone to the rig, I have around 4 pounds which causes a little fatigue after a while. All in all, this rig is a big help and makes media creation easier and better. It is a little heavy and also a little pricey. If they could have shaved off some more of the metal, it still would have been very robust and lighter. It is a good value for the quality and I give it 4 stars.

I admit to being a bit of a Beastgrip fan boy, having begun my acquaintanceship with their very first product which I still use. The product consists of a bar and mount to hold your phone and accessories, such as lights and mics. Five ¼-20 built-in mounts and two cold shoes. All metal, well crafted and a bit heavy. Two short, stubby metal handles complete the ensemble. You can build just about any hand-held mount you want with this combination of components. Granted, it’s heavier than plastic units might be, but that translates to more stability – if your arm doesn’t get tired. Just kidding, it’s not that heavy. Overall, a pricey, but effective solution for run-and-gun and some vloggers. Jerry
