I think it's supposed to be a release? But the thing never really clicks in. There is a huge chance I'm just an idiot, but it came with zero instruction manual. Like the original Switch thing is a solid one-piece of plastic. For some bizarre reason this thing's center piece feels the need to come out. I'll delete this review if I figure it out, but right now if I hold it upside down, the joycons slide out, along with the center piece. The grip is really good, the kids can play comfortably with this joycon compare to small controller. It's plug n play and the coolest thing about it is you can remove the middle part and attach it to the controller if you or your kids don't like bulky look. My concern is the quality since it is made from light/cheap plastic, I don't know how long it will last if the kids don't handle it carefully.
