Bachman-Turner Overdrive - The Definitive Collection - desertcart.com Music Review: Great item - Great price and fast shipping. Review: A must have for every Rock & Roll library!!!! - After leaving " The Guess Who" in 1970 Randy Bachman & his two brothers Rob( Drums)& Tim ( Guitar) along with (Bassist) Fred Turner formed Bachman , Turner, Overdrive. The Bachman & Turner elements of the Bands name are self evident the " Overdrive" came courtesy of a Truckers magazine title... even though it could be in reference to their power rock. Affectionately known as B.T.O. this power house Rock & Roll band helped provide many stand out songs in the 70's not a easy task considering the competition during the 70's!!! I think one of my favorite bits of Rock & Roll trivia is the fact that the song " You ain't seen nothing yet." was written as a inside joke for Randy's stuttering brother! Apparently shy of material for their next album they submitted the song they meant as a joke & I believe it hit number one on some charts. I am not a huge fan of " Greatest Hits" or " Best ofs" but this is the one you want if your looking for one covering Bachman, Turner Overdrive. And every Rock & Roll library needs some B.T.O. !!!

Nothing, but good old Rock n' Roll.
I only gave it 4 stars, because there are some throw-away songs on this CD, but what can you expect when you get almost 80 minutes of songs on a CD by a band that only had 50 minutes worth of great songs. Don't get me wrong, that is not a bad thing when most bands have far less than 10 minutes of great songs in a career. If it would have been possible to include about 20 minutes of great songs by The Guess Who, I would have given it a 5+.

Basic Rock = Great Music
BTO's been one of my very favorites since their 1973 debut. It's all about basic, frills-free rock'n'roll with these boys. And that's exactly why I like their music. This set covers all the bases. It's truly a very good CD, one that I play frequently. Great recording quality and a fine selection of BTO's best songs. I recommend it.

BTO
An excellent selection of songs even though I would have chosen several others, but a very representative sampling of BTO's excellent music
