Homedics SC-540 LCD 400 lb/180 kg Capacity Bath Scale with Body Composition Scanner

** You purchased this item on December 15, 2008. ** Guess what. It's still working and I would still recommend it to anyone. It does everything it should do and the battery life is awesome. People getting "Err" are like my boyfriend most likely. You have to keep standing there for a few seconds after your weight pops up before the other stats will appear. It doesn't even take that long. He's just impatient.

We chose this scale because of the variety of metrics and the larger capacity, since my husband was 335 lbs and I was 270 lbs. Unfortunately, the scale would only measure weight, not anything else! It kept giving us error messages, regardless of how long we stood on the scale. We followed the troubleshooting directions to no avail. Thinking we just got a faulty machine, we returned the product and ordered a replacement (Amazon was great!) but the replacement has the same exact problem. The only difference is that it has worked twice in the past 4 weeks, depending on how lucky you are that day. The other problem we've had is that even though it does measure weight, the scale is so wobbly that you can get up to a 5 pound variation within minutes just depending on how still you stand. It is on a hard-surface, so the instability cannot be attributed to that. Overall, we are very unhappy with the product. We have chosen a TANITA BF-625 Duo Memory Body Fat Analyzer / Scale that performs much better!

The SC-540 is a very light-weight product, can be easily moved around. Large lettering to see your stats clearly. It shows you what your last reading was when you turn it on. Only complaint: you have to read the stats very quick and know what the numbers mean because it flashes on for 1-2 seconds with 2 sets of 5 indexes on each screen. (whew, all in one breath!). You also have to be barefoot with your feet slightly moist to get your readings, so be ready to stand on some cold stainless steel for about 10 seconds!

This item is a replacement for the one that stop working after four years of use. I like the accuracy, that it goes to 400 pounds ( I am a little big ) and that is not expensive.

Bought this is a gift for someone and they couldn't be happier with it. As the purchaser I thought it was a great price!

i set up per instructions. never worked properly. readings would bounce around from 200 to 50 lbs then it would turn itself off. the construction was pretty flimsy. i returned it to amazon.

I just got this scale today and it is very cheap looking. i.. Accuracy is not consistent. I will be returning, i don't like it.
