Allegro Coffee Decaf Sumatra Ground Coffee, 12 oz

This coffee is delicious, and the roast is a really solid middle ground that gives you some of the acidity of a lighter roast while also delivering some of the more chocolatey notes of a darker roast. It balances nicely. The spice flavor Sumatran coffee is famous for is also quite prominent. I picked up one bag of this while looking to try new coffees, and have since ordered five more bags and stopped drinking much else. The flavor has been consistent across all the bags I've had. I'm very pleased with Allegro Coffee. I'd also like to say that the Swiss Water decaffeination process is top notch. I don't feel like I'm missing out on much, if any, flavor. The only thing I can think of to knock this coffee for is freshness. It doesn't have a roast date on the packaging, only an expiration date. It's still quite good, however, and has a fullness to the flavor you can only really achieve by having been roasted pretty recently. It doesn't have the really distinct, bold flavor coffee has when it's within a few days of roasting, but that tends to override the flavor of the coffee and leave you just tasting the fresh roast. You're supposed to let it off gas for a few days before you drink freshly roasted coffee anyway, so I can't really knock them for missing that window.

This is the best Swiss water process decaf I've tried. I love medium roast coffees and I just gave up caffeine. This has a great flavor, and has really helped me transition. Make sure you use 2 scoops of grounds for each cup if you like a full flavor. It needs a little extra to get full flavored. No weird aftertaste or acid reflux for me.

This is a decent, drinkable decaf that I'm sure it's better when fresh. The bag I received was expiring in a few weeks. I finished it, but won't be ordering again. Don Pablo and No Fun Jo brands are much better.

My family loves this decaf coffee. We started buying it because I am very sensitive to the acid in coffee. Sumatra is known for its low acidity. I also needed decaf because caffeine makes me to jittery. But I didn't want to give up flavor. I wanted to know I was actually drinking a cup of coffee and not dark water. I don't get the jitters and I feel I am drinking a cup of coffee. Yumm!

I thought I even had to give up decaf until now. About two months ago, even decaf started making me feel very uncomfortable and I switched to herbal tea, but it’s just not the same - I need my coffee!!! I’m on a subscription for delivery of this coffee now because it’s truly DECAF! I can have my morning coffee again without any jitters whatsoever! Tastes amazing...nice and smooth...I only wish it wasn’t so damned expensive lol. Buy this if you are super sensitive to caffeine like me and you won’t be disappointed I promise!!

(Note: this is an updated second review) After my first bag of this decaf, I wasn't that impressed. But, I tried again and I'm glad I did. My second bag was much better...better Sumatra smell and better taste. Now, this is a decaf with which I can have a long-term relationship. So, the first bag I'm putting down to pandemic supply chain issues and I'm hoping now for quality consistency.

Was hoping this would be a good substitute for my regular Sumatra coffee - which I drink several brands of. It was not. If you are looking for a true Sumatra flavor - don’t get this one.

This is a small coffee package and not worth the $ can get cheaper elsewhere. Coffee is good though. Now I see reduced price to $9.89. That’s $2 less which would have been better. A bit too late
