Indispensable to make "Liegoise" waffle.
Originally from the nord of France, very close to the Belgium border, I was looking for sugar to make real waffle (no offense Ego but I that taste like cardboard). If you go for "Gaufre liegeoise" (Belgium waffle form Liege), you need this. Yes it is pure sugar, but with the amount of butter most recipe recommend, the few added calories from the sugar willl not be that bad :D (Tip: when following a Liegoise waffle recipe, you can divide the butter by 2 and substitute with an extra egg without altering the taste that much).

Authentic Belgian pearl sugar – just like home
As a Belgian living in the U.S., I was so happy to find this authentic pearl sugar. I use it to make real Liège waffles, and the result is exactly how I remember them back home—crispy caramelized bits, rich texture, and that perfect sweetness. The sugar pearls are the right size and hold up beautifully during baking, just as they should. It’s not always easy to find the real thing here, so I’m glad this is available and consistent in quality. If you’re trying to recreate traditional Belgian waffles, this is absolutely the ingredient you need. Highly recommend!

Great waffle sugar
Love this Belgian pearl sugar. I use it in my waffle dough. It’s makes perfect melty pockets of sugar in every bite. I can’t find them locally, so grateful I can get them here.

You will LOVE this pearl sugar!
Went to a waffle party at Christmas and the hostess used this sugar to make her waffles extra special. I LOVED it and wanted to try it for my own family. They LOVED it too! I use a 'from scratch' yeast recipe and let the batter rise for an hour. I toss in one cup of the pearl sugar, stir, and let it rise for another 15 minutes. I pour a cup of batter into the Belgian waffle maker and sprinkle a few more pearls over the top before I close the lid. We use butter and syrup, jams, fruit, etc., to top the waffles. Seriously, you will LOVE this stuff.

AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!
OMG.....I was not sure how much to order so I ordered 6 pounds. Well, while I can guarantee I will make these waffles again and again, 6 pounds is enough for 18 batches! But the results are so amazingly awesome my party of 5 the other night finished all 10 waffles AFTER a huge dinner. AND THEN THEY WANTED MORE! But, unfortunately, the 4 hours of prep time would not allow that. (remember 2-3 hours of rising+. But the results were amazing. By the way, in my commercial waffle maker, the cooking time was about 1 (ONE) minute! And the waffles came out amazingly great.

Perfect for Liege Waffles and Great Bulk Value
This set is a great value, as pearl sugar is difficult to find. Got these as a gift for my daughter who had been wanting to make European style sugar waffles. You can occasionally find pre-made waffles in the store, but they are $1-3 dollars each and not fresh. These made wonderful waffles. It takes a little practice to get the right proportion of sugar per waffle and we didn't have the correct waffle maker, but they were delicious. I'm sure we'll be buying this again. It took about 1/2 a bag to make a big batch of waffles. We also froze some to re-warm later and they were yummy!

Not for the faint of heart.
Decided to try my hand at authentic Belgian waffles. The result was a fabulous waffle but the downside was the terrible mess they made of my waffle maker ; caramelized sugar everywhere! The cleanup wasn't worth the product. I'll stick to buying these pre-made, which isn't much of a compromise in quality when you consider that this type of waffle is dense and keeps well refrigerated.

Great Product + Great Recipe
We bought the pearl sugar to make our standard recipe for Leige Waffles, and ended up trying the one on the back of the package. We will only be making the recipe from the back of the package from now on. Our only adjustment was nearly eliminating the cinnamon. Bare a dash was plenty, in my opinion. We made a double batch and they were nearly all gone the same day we made them. Smaaklijk!

I bought this pearl sugar because I wanted to try the authentic Belgian waffles, like the ones they have in Belgium. There's a recipe on the back of the bags, so I tried it, and everyone said they were the BEST waffles they have EVER had. The waffles take awhile to make, but it is definitely worth it. I also like that this pearl sugar is made from beet sugar, and they just melt in your mouth. I'm sure they'll be good in lots of recipes.
