Self haircut: you need a fade blade not a taper blade.
The blade is actually fine. However the "rocking" movement needed for a taper blade is not easily accomplished if you are cutting your own hair.

Keeps the clipper cool
This blade actually keeps the clipper cool compared to the stainless steel one. I have also noticed since Ive switched to this blade it the battery on the clipper last longer. Like the heat of the stainless steel made it work harder than it needed to.
