It's cheaper than an actual textbook
Mastering is a strong word for this book. What format works best for learning software like this is a complete project. Piecemeal will inform you of how to use all the functions of Revit, but it lacks a cohesive end result. It touches more on the BIM aspect than how to use the tools in a productive workflow, hence the lack of cohesion. The attach roof function isn't mentioned, and it's one that if you plan on using Revit professionally need to know how to use.

Master of nothing
I bought this book hoping for Revit Cad, what I found is a very basic Revit Cad. There is no Home command, no Edge Command, no scale Command, nothing about foundations, basements, etc... The first chapter is 22 pages of BIM or building information management. It does not start until page 549 with floorplan, walls, windows, doors, etc. Total pages of 978 pages, yet most 500 pages is about BIM. When one looks at the index, it is mostly BIM, so where is Revit CAD?? One of the authors is one of the helped produce Revit CAD. In my opinion, Revit CAD is not a very good architectural program as it has many faults one of which is dynamic panels or ribbons. Dynamic panels or ribbons are always moving around and changing things. I like Architectural Autocad because most things are fixed and one does have to keep finding things. Another fault is the tiny display boxes at the bottom left, Why with all this open space? If I could give this a zero I would.

From my reading so far, one significant detail missing in the overview is that this book is primarily architectural, and does not cover MEP & Structural

Great book full of good advice to improve your revit skill. I am still using it after a year when I need quick advice. It is a book for intermediate revit users not for beginners.

Does not answer everything but a great resource nonetheless.
