Excellent little laptop!
I really like this little laptop! It looks very much like a Mac, which I know it is supposed mimic in styling and speed, and I really enjoy the aesthetic and styling of this machine! I don’t like plastic, chunky, thick heavy laptops that look like they’re either something from Dell circa 2001, or some overly plastic looking thing from some other company, and this Chuwi LapBook Pro is very aesthetically pleasing, elegant, and refined in its design and styling. It’s not thick and heavy and bulky either, and it’s hard to tell it’s not a Mac at first glance. This laptop is very sturdy with its casing material, and the screen is bright and beautiful, and easy on the eyes. This machine is also quick too, and hasn’t bogged down and ‘stuttered’ at all. I use it to play point-and-click games mostly, check emails, listen to youtube and read, and it handles the games very, very well. This machine doesn’t look, nor perform cheaply, regardless of the price tag. This little machine also wakes and starts very, very quickly and ‘flies’! I also find the keyboard to be surprisingly comfortable to type on with a good deep key travel and springiness that’s feels just right, and the keys are stable too and don’t rabble when typing quickly. The backlight is nice and bright too! My only real gripes are the charging cord doesn’t stay snuggly in the charging port, and I have to constantly re-connect it and try not to it move or myself at all when it is plugged in, as the cord pops out or moves to the side in a way that the cord doesn’t make contact with the battery charging tongue of the laptop itself. Another thing I wish I could do is raise and lower the backlight intensity on the keyboard and set the keyboard to stay illuminated longer than it does after typing. I was reticent to buy this laptop at first, what with it being a Windows 10 machine and the irritation I have often expletives with Windows machines, however, the RAM and the SSD in this machine really do make all the difference in the world on dealing with Windows this time around after using a 512 GB SSD MacBook and a MacBook Air. If you need a budget machine, or just don’t want to drop over $400 on a machine to use causally, this little laptop is an excellent choice, despite the few issues I’ve mentioned above. I’m including some pictures in the dark to showcase the great screen on this bad boy!!

The true epitome of a manufacturer choosing to use junk part to save a buck
I purchased this device on December 19th 2019. It was a Christmas gift I got for my father I was really excited to surprise him. Now after little more I am 3 months the stupid thing it's falling apart. The right hinge LCD froze up and pulled away from the plastic case that it was screwed into. It's obvious that this is do to extremely poor quality control from the manufacturer using junk materials and parts. I had worked in the computer field for 25 years, I was ahead the repair team for a major manufacturer in Grand Rapids Michigan and service over 2000 laptop devices. Throughout the time I was the manager of that Repair team I had run across several models of different manufacturers who also chose to use inferior parts for there LCD hinges and bottom case assemblies that caused the same failure that my father has now experience on this device. During the time I was the manager the repair team, I would work with the manufacturer on this issue, in some cases the manufacturer would replace the device with a brand new of a different model rather than put the customer through the pain of replacing the defective LCD assembly that is having the issue until they could get it resolved. However there were several other manufacturers that I remember, such as Toshiba, NEC, that chose to keep sending me the defective inferior LCD assembly with the bad hinges and bottom plastic case assemblies because they where under the impression that if the customer became sick and tired of getting there devices send to be repaired, even if it was a 2-3 day turn around, that they would just Buy another device. I remember meeting with one manufacturers head engineer who told me this very same thing with a smile on his face, until I pointed out to him "what makes you think they're going to buy yours again?" the smile faded from his face and as I predicted the corporation I work for would Buy another manufacturers device base on my recommendation. So the bottom line is that this device and model is not worth the money no matter how little it was to purchase. I have seen new reviews on this device that or not there when I first chose it which basically outline what a piece of junk it truly is. I do not want another device from this manufacturer, Noir do I want 2 waste my fathers and my time to send it in and have it repaired, I have totally no faith that it will be fixed correctly but rather with the same junk parts. What I want is full refund of the money I spent on this device including the extended warranty I purchased. I look forward to having this issue resolved by Amazon in Timely manner. As a computer technician / manager in the field for many years, I would suggest to Amazon not to label this device as a "Amazon Prime Choice device", but should at the very least remove it from there site completely.

Great laptop....but only 1 problem
I love the laptop in general for its price. I use it for non-intense cpu usage, mostly browsing, e-mails, and movies. My one issue is that very often, maybe once a week, the laptop screen remains on even after the laptop is closed, and its turning on by itself. For example, I will use the laptop, close it, and see that the screen light in off. At night, I will see it randomly turn on and the light shines through the laptop, even thought its completely closed. I then have to open up the laptop and closed it again to have the screen turn off again. I wanted to get it repaired, but that involved sending it from NYC to Hong Kong and I wasnt sure it was worth the wait and effort to proceed with that. Update 3/2021: The screen going on by itself is still a problem, but now I realize that 3 screws have fallen out of the base of the laptop. I opened the laptop normally and the base cracked open and now it wont close properly since the screws are missing. Now black pieces of the inside are breaking and falling out everytime I try to open and close it. Now I need to get a replacement, so this laptop only lasted 1 year and 4 months.
