Best canned tuna I’ve ever had! This Ortiz tuna is in a league of its own as far as I’m concerned. I eat it straight out of the can (after draining off the olive oil) without mixing it with anything. In fact I think mixing it with mayo and relish and onion like you might to make a tuna sandwich would be a mistake. Try it with some gourmet crackers, jalapeño stuffed olives, bell peppers but don’t spoil the experience by mixing it with anything. The taste, texture and quality are far above any canned tuna I’ve tried. Update 6/23/24: The problem with ordering from Amazon rather than buying in a store is the soft aluminum cans get beaten up in shipment and you risk eating tuna that’s been compromised. My last shipment of six cans arrived damaged and wrapped in some kind of Saran Wrap like plastic and all the cans were covered in olive oil! Great! So buy it at Whole Foods where you can see for yourself that the can is undamaged.

Great tuna at a great price

Tastes and smells like tuna and not cat food, and the texture is equally as good.

This is a delicious canned tuna. Some of the flavor is the result of being packed in premium Spanish olive oil. I had not eaten tuna packed in oil for years due to extra fat and calories. So now I am used to the flavor when packed in water. This tuna is tender and easy to transform into tuna salad. Reminds me of what tuna tasted like when I was a kid. The high quality tins in which the tuna is packed are easy to get open but contain only 3.95 oz. of tuna each. The price is high as you might expect for an imported product. It’s a treat but too costly for every day.

It is a quality product but too expensive

I'm not a huge tuna eater but I had this tuna on a trip and it's fantastic so I went and bought some as soon as I got home. Unfortunately 2 of the 6 cans are severely dented and inedible. I figured it was no big deal I'd request a replacement but this product is ineligible for returns or replacement according to customer service! Paying $32 for 6 cans which is already a steep price for tuna but $32 for 4 cans is wild. It's better than going to a specialty food store. I love the product but looking at past reviews dented cans seem to be a somewhat regular occurrence. It's not safe to eat from seriously dented cans and not being able to request replacements kills it for me. 5 stars for the product itself and 1 star for delivery/customer service. Update - After calling Amazon customer service I was given a refund for the entire order. I since re-ordered the 12 pack and none of the cans are dented. The packaging was much better on the 12 pack I'd recommend getting that over the 6 pack in the future. I wish I could have done this online without calling but overall it was a good customer service experience. Review updated to 5/5 stars. The product really is the best!

I’ve been buying this brand every couple weeks for about a year now. They used to be full “steaks” of fish that came out as a single piece in each can. I could put it on a salad in big flakes that were easy to eat with a fork. This last batch I bought is entirely different. It’s shredded like cat food with a much fishier taste. It’s not ok for my salads and honestly has an awful texture even in a sandwich or wrap. I thought the first can was a dud but so far 4 of the 6 are like this and it’s so disappointing, especially at this price.

Wonderful tuna. The best I have ever had and it is worth every penny. Will not buy the normal brands ever again.

This is such delightful tuna, so mouth watering and smooth. I think it’s absolutely the nicest tin tuna and i am a complete convert.
