Great scale for cats & small dogs!
I bought this scale to monitor weight changes in my cats (I have a total of 7), specifically one senior cat who is no longer on a diet but continues to lose weight. This scale is perfect & super easy to use straight out of the box. The weighing deck is built into the stand so as long as you have a level surface (like your kitchen table) it is stable (tip proof & slide proof) and there is nothing to assemble, calibrate, test, or log into. Simply insert the pair of AA batteries that are included into its compartment, set your weight measuring option (oz, lb, or kg) depending on your preference or application and power on (Tare)! Weighing has been a breeze. Once on, wait for the display to set to zeros, add a few kitty treats, then place your cat on the surface & read the display. It can give you up to 3 decimal place accuracy depending on weight measurement option used. The weighing deck is a decent size and able to support my dog at 27.64 pounds (so small dogs & animals works fine)! *If you need to get an animal to ‘sit still’ long enough for their weight to register and they are food motivated… just add a treat or two to the deck! Recently, I have come to love having the ‘hold’ button feature. I haven’t had much occasion to use it, but learning to has been fun and it could come in handy for the pet you may need to restrain in a towel or its carrier. Anyway, this is where you would weigh the towel or cat carrier empty using ‘hold’ to freeze the weight, then weigh the cat secured in towel or the carrier, and the scale will automatically “subtract” the carrier/towel weight (hold weight) displaying only the weight of the cat. The first weight or ‘hold’ weight is the weight that is subtracted. This could come in handy for other applications and in weighing things around the house (not to exceed the 44 lb max) which is what I did originally, to test the feature. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The scale is modern looking, easy to use, accurate, BPA free and affordable. It’s easy to maintain as well as clean. It is also the same scale used at my pets animal hospital so I feel confident in the accuracy of the readout. It’s not big or bulky, but I don’t have the space to keep it out all the time, so when not in use I store it in its carry box in the closet. As for durability, only time will tell. As always will update of any changes. 5 Stars and I highly recommend!!!

Great functionality for the price (compared to hospital-grade scales)
For the first month of life, gaining weight for my newborn son was proving to be a challenge. Breastfeeding, as it turns out, is a lot harder than they make it look in the movies. Concerned about how much my son was consuming directly from the breast, my wife and I rented a hospital-grade scale from a local lactation consultant for a month (they actually sell it on Amazon, it's the Medela Baby Weigh II, and it costs an eye-watering $1600 at the time of this writing). We loved the convenience and piece of mind the scale brought, but wanted a scale for ourselves. Though this isn't the highest rated or best-selling baby scale on Amazon, it has the highest precision (5 grams). When it arrived, I immediately tested it by weighing objects on the two scales. My son's beluga whale doll weighed 196 grams on the hospital-grade scale and 195 grams on the Beurer. What I presume the 5 gram precision to mean is that if an object's true weight is 197 grams (for example) it will round down to 195; if it's true weight is 198 grams, it will round up to 200 grams. So if you're using this scale to get an estimate of how much milk your child is drawing from breastfeeding, it will be off by at most 2.5 grams (or 2.5 milliliters) which for $50 is definitely good enough. You have to end up paying A LOT more to get that extra precision a hospital grade offers. The scale has a tare button, a switch on the bottom to convert the display from pounds, to ounces, to kilograms. In my usage, I just keep it on kilograms, and if I need to convert to pounds, I just multiply by 2.2. It has an auto-hold feature where if your baby is squirmy, it will wait until it is more still before locking in on the weight. This is a great feature, but I haven't tested it out too much. I'd say the ONLY feature of this scale that I think is missing from the hospital-grade scale is the ability to display the weight in both pounds and ounces. If I kept the switch set to pounds, my son might weigh 10.8 pounds on this scale, but the hospital grade scale will read 10 pounds 13.4 ounces (for example). Not a big deal, since I can do the math in my head or use google to convert, but it's handy. Also, the hospital-grade scale was designed for the breastfeeding use case so it has buttons to remember the pre-feed and post-feed weights with a third button to calculate the difference. Again, I can do this manually, but it would be a killer feature for this product. For it's accuracy, price, and ease of use, I give it 5 stars. Adding the features I mentioned above would turn it into the rare 6 star product for me.

Great quality scale!
Perfect scale for weighing all my pets. It’s really flat and space saving. The digital display is very accurate and easy to use. This was a great purchase.

Convenient, easy to use, accuracy is questionable.
I bought this because my cat was dying of kidney disease and I wanted to keep track of her weight. It was fine for that purpose, I was looking to see if she lost or gained a lot of weight (a pound is a lot) as an indicator of how well she was doing. So from day to day it worked fine, it was pretty easy to use once she got used to it. But I noted it was about half a pound off from the scale at the vet's office. Since my interest was relative loss or gain it didn't matter much. But if you are going to rely on accuracy you might investigate whether it can be calibrated. Of course the vet could have a bad scale for all I know but I think we got weighed in different rooms so ... My cat passed on and I could see she was getting to the end when I saw her losing weight every day for a week. The scale was good enough to do what I needed.

Love this scale
It’s very accurate, we use it for weighted feedings and it works well. It’s sensitive to movement so sometimes you have to work with bat but it’s quick, and fairly accurate. Definitely worth the money.

Weighs in lbs OR ounces, not lbs AND ounces HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Please Read entire review
I am not sure about the baseline accuracy of this scale, however I am overall satisfied. I weighed a 5 lb hand weight and it says that it is 5.04lbs. That translates to 5 lbs and 0.64 ounces as it only weighs in lbs and tenths of a pound on the pound setting. I also weighed the same 5 lb hand weight on my kitchen scale and it says 5 lbs and 0.012 ounces. So it appears that the kitchen scale is more accurate. I purchased to track weight gain and loss for my cats, so despite the baseline accuracy issue, it does the job and I am not going to return. I like the fact that it is a solid base that sits flush to it's surface rather than coming in parts that put together like other models. Only 4 stars due to the baseline accuracy issue, and the fact that it doesn't weigh in pounds and ounces. Just keep this in mind prior to purchase. Works well for pets who don't want to sit still due to "hold" function. Update 4/13/2025 still works as good as new. I still monitor my cat's weight using this scale. Due to longevity of the item I have changed my rating to 5 stars. Update 3/19/2026. Brought my cat to the vet. Was told he weighed 17.6 lbs. Weighed him when I got home and YES, the number is the same the vet said. 3 years going strong and accurate. This is now in my top 10 BEST PURCHASES FROM AMAZON. Just buy it you will NOT be disappointed.

Great at home scale for babies and animals
Used this for my first babe, I would just check her weight here and there while making sure she was getting enough milk while breastfeeding. I can assure you it is accurate and very easy to use. It’s soft, but trying to measure a newborn sometimes my daughter didn’t like to lay on it as it is harder. Glad I bought it, going to use for my next baby too.

Inaccurate and cheap
For one, it is clearly used. The box was damaged and ripped and had been opened before. The actual product feels cheep. It’s just clunky thick lightweight plastic and feels exactly like what you paid for. The scale is highly inaccurate. I bought this to weigh my cats, and according to the scale, they will be 6 pounds and then 30 seconds later they are 10 pounds. Completely different weights every time you use it. It also just stops on a number after a few seconds and doesn’t continue reading and calibrating, so you have to remove your cat and re-tare it out and try again unless you’re satisfied with the frozen number (which I wasn’t since they don’t sit perfectly still and needed more time to settle into it). Bad purchase, will be returning.

Baby scales
Love its sleek look and easy to use all functions. Did not need to read instructions. Easy wipe down to clean, lightweight with sturdy box with handle to transport. Batteries supplied and they work. Only thing I would have liked to come with it is a carry case
