God of War 4 predecessor.
This game is awesome. Death's journey is just as good as War's in Darksiders 1, but they go full open world action-rpg in the sequel. I played through this for the first time on the PS4 and was pleasantly surprised at the direction they went with in this one. The gear and skill systems allow you to create specific builds for Death from full melee to magic-centered specs, and the game has heavy open-world exploration, much like was done later in God of War 4. The studios behind Darksiders 2 and God of War 4 are unrelated, however the focal gameplay elements in Darksiders 2 are undoubtedly influential to what was done in God of War 4. I even made a full magic build in God of War 4 as an homage to my magic build for Death in this game. The character building mechanics and exploration are that similar between the two. The best thing about this version is having such a good game handheld. Darksiders 1, and Darksiders Genesis are also worth checking out. Hopefully we see a proper Darksiders 4.

Death Follows War
I've been exited about playing these older AA games. I first played Darksiders 2 when it came out on PC and the keyboard/mouse controls never clicked with me. Playing on the Switch feels smooth and intuitive. Lags do happen, but doesn't distract from the game. One constant in all three Darksiders games for the Switch is a stutter every time you summon your mount. I end up just running everywhere. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty from the start. So far it's been challenging, but possible and rewarding. The dungeons have been fun and remind me of my times going through Zelda Ocarina of Time dungeons. Haven't gotten stuck yet. For the most part they are pretty linear. Very little backtracking. You enter a new room, solve puzzle and go to next room. I do have three issues with this game having played it right after beating the first. There is no block mechanic, out the gate, only dodging. Thought that was a strange decision as well as a setback (in my opinion). Blocking in the first game just felt amazing. However, there is a secondary weapon that allows you to block, but it just feels different. Secondly, the executes (finishing move when enemy is at low health) seem to only proc on a percentage of enemies instead of every single one. Maybe later in the game you can increase that chance, I'm maybe about halfway through the game, but I haven't yet. Speaking about halfway through the game, the third thing is the story. Couldn't be more lost how the ending to the first game ties in with the beginning of this game. Also, why Death HAS to go to a certain place. Hopefully this resolves by the end because I really enjoy the Darksiders lore. If you don't care about the story I would play Darksiders 2 before the first and Genesis last. That's from my personal enjoyment of gameplay. All in all I would definitely recommend.

Great collectors edition!
Great port of a solid game. Contains all DLC and expansion packs on one cartridge. No download code and no downloading of a patch. Great job THQ! I will give you my money all day long with physical editions that are complete. Please note...there is no instruction manual inside or artwork inside the case. Spine of the box is red and not black (like the first one).

The switch version is amazing!
Amazing game. Run’s extremely well on the switch & the boss battles are epic. I would highly recommend this game, to anyone that love “Zelda like games”.

Uno de mis juegos favoritos para jugar en portátil, no tiene las mismas opciónes de personalización que el warmastered pero el juego se vee hermoso en modo portátil y muy fluido, imprescindible para la swicht.

Port of great game as expected.
Straight up port of Darksiders II. Lags in loading in some areas but the original had the same problem. Not sure if all DLC is included, box says yes but Argul's tomb is not in the main menu like the Wii U version. Not quite sure what is supposed to be different or rebalanced, looks like the same game as the Wii U except haven't seen any sign of the DLC area (Argul's Tomb).

This game is by far my favourite in the Darksiders series. I have bought the game on three different platforms now, so that speaks to how much I love it. Death's side of the story is a remarkable one, risking everything to redeem War. It has a depth I don't see too often in games like it. The story and gameplay are both solid. The only issue with the Deathinitive Edition of the game is the sound, once in a while it will go wonky and will make certain things not sound at all. Rebooting the game fixes the issue but it is persistent. Other than that, it's worth playing.
