Transformer USB Flash Memory Drive 16GB

I loved Transformers growing up, and Ravage was my absolute favorite in the 80's but I never managed to buy one. The plastic of this USB drive is lightweight, more like a snap together model or a Japanese capsule toy than the original Hasbro toys. I didn't care. I was grinning as I transformed it the first time, carefully flexing the legs to figure out how they unfold. For a brief moment I felt like I was 10 years old again. Though the plastic is lightweight the joints and pivots are solid and it holds its pose quite well. It's also notably larger than the gen 1 Ravage micro cassette, but that just makes it stand out better on my work desk. Well worth the price!

Coolest & clever memory stick ever!

Do not buy this product. It looks cool and fun and takes you back to the old G1 Transformer days... but it's a terrible device. It's five times bigger than it looks in the picture. It's bulky, which means it's very difficult to hook into some USB plugs that don't allow for much room. It's not sleek at all. It's even bigger than the original toy was, much bigger. The USB part doesn't stay out, if you try to push it into a usb drive it pushes itself back in. I'm very upset at this purchase and I highly recommend no one ever buys it. One of the main reasons I got it was to add photos from my computer to my digital frame, but I can't even connect the two b/c the flash drive is too big and bulky. What a complete waste of money.

It works just like it says it does and you can transform it.

The novelty of the item, and being a transformer collector, made me purchase this item. Had I seen it on a shelf rather than through pictures on the internet, I might have passed it by. The quality of the plastic is lower than I was expecting. The sliding mechanism for hiding the USB port is tough to open and close without excessive force. The mouth of the transformer in cat form hangs open, lacking any pose ability. The upsides are that it works perfectly fine as USB Stick and despite its larger size relative to other actual versions of classic Ravage it looks good as a show piece next other transformers, capturing some of the original character design, at least at a distance.

Nice little gadget to have around. No malware I could find (and I scanned it with four different security programs on two computers); functions (i.e. transforms) well; seems to download, maintain, and delete my computer files as intended/commanded; no missing or damaged parts; arrived a week or two faster than promised; and looks great! It has two immediate downsides, and one possible downside: first, in my case, total available storage space comes to 15.4 GB, rather than 16... there might be a good reason for this, but I'm not computer-literate enough to say. It seems odd to one of my generation that you can casually misplace 600 MB of storage space. Second, and less importantly, it is largish for a flash drive. Which is understandable given that it is modeled on a transforming toy. But keep that in mind when ordering: if you're looking for a really compact drive for business and/or travel, or if you really like cramming flash drives into as many ports on your computer as is physically possible, this may not be a drive for you. In terms of durability, the parts range from small to very small. I have doubts about long-term durability, at least for the transforming toy part of the drive. Keep out of reach of animals and small children! But so far, so good: I have no children, my cats show no interest in plastic, and it's holding together quite well. So, no real, immediate complaints on that from my POV. So, four stars for the initial good impressions, -1 for the memory issue and portability. But for my purposes of occasional, casual flash drive usage, I'm quite satisfied. I'd buy one for a friend, or if I really needed, a second one for myself.

My son loves the transformers. He had them when he was small and still messes with them or will buy an older one at the Flea market that is so called Vintage. I thought something had to be 25+ years old to be vintage? Not to a 15 year old. Anyway. back to the review. These folks are incredible to buy from. I couldnt beleive that it came so quick. Great pack job and awesome item so my son says. He is taking college courses and has already downloaded several GB's already, new and from his last flash drive. so yeh.
