ESV dramatized

I enjoy listening to this masterfully dramatized version of the spoken Word. The words are delivered slowly, deliberately, expressively, and in character by both the male and female readers, which I very much like. In my opinion, which may be unique to me, the only weakness in this presentation is an occasional obtrusiveness of the background music, detracting a bit from my concentration on the words. The player is excellent, delivering a clear sound with plenty of volume. It is quite easy to operate and will quickly take you in the Bible wherever you want to go. The battery retains its charge a long time, and the earphone (included)/speaker jack make it versatile for listening. The Operating Manual is well-written and easily understood. It also includes some materials that are helpful in learning the Bible. Well done.

My dad had given an old model that wasn’t a dramatized version of King James to my teenager son and my younger son saw how awesome it was so he asked grandpa to get him one as well. So my dad told me to purchase one and I ordered this dramatized version and it’s so great that my mom just bought 3 more for the other grandkids. It’s a great gift or a great tool to study the Bible in high definition. Highly recommended.

I was initially surprised at how small and how lightweight this was. I was wondering if it would sound as cheaply as it felt/looked. However, I was very pleasant surprised. I began listening right away and couldn't get enough. The drama/reading of the ESV is really well done. There were parts when I was listening where I had tears in my eyes. As another reviewer said, the volume has so many settings so there's not that "in between" where it's too loud or too soft. I've been using it so much and I'm only down one bar on the battery. Very happy with my purchase! If there were ONE thing I would change, it would be easier if the screen had letters for the books (Gen. for example) instead of numbers.

CHANGED OUR LIVES!!!!! If you are reading this, then you have found the best product that Amazon has for sale! I am serious... this thing has changed our lives and I wish I could afford to buy one for everyone in the world! The voices are great, the battery lasts forever, and it is super easy to navigate even by my 7-year-old. We have six children ages 2 to 12, and so it gets used almost all day by someone. At breakfast we listen to Proverbs at the table so I can eat (I used to try to read aloud but that didn't work), at lunch we are currently going through Acts. Then at nap time my three-year-old has been listening to John every single day so he has a lot of it memorized. At night the boys usually want to take it upstairs and listen to their book of choice. We used to try to listen to the Bible on my iPhone but that was just annoying because then when I needed to use my phone I would have to find the child who had it and make them stop listening, so that's why I love having this stand-alone device instead. BUY IT... you will be so glad you did!

This thing holds a good charge, sounds good and I enjoy the changing voices and background noise. I tend to read the NIV so I get to appreciate some translation differences when I read and listen in tandem. The method for finding verses is pretty straightforward if you know the order of the books of the Bible, otherwise you'll need a reference.

The player worked fine. However, the dramatization was more distracting than helpful. I wish I had just gotten one with someone simply reading the scripture, not acting it out with different voices.

You can turn this up loud enough to hear it from room to room. My audio Bible on the computer was not very loud and for some reason speakers do not work very well with my current computer, but when I got this audio Bible, I was surprised at the clear sound and the volume that could be turned so high (also very low if need be). So I can have this on in a room and not have to carry it with me if I need to go to another room, but I can still hear it clearly. (It is so nice to be able to do dishes and hear the Bible over the sound of running water.) Also was SO impressed to hear the added music for meditation or worship. It is BEAUTIFUL! That was a very nice surprise!
