Red Devil 0770 Lifetime Ultra 230 Premium Elastomeric Acrylic Latex Sealant, 10.1 oz, White

This has performed fine for me as a general purpose exterior caulk. It's easy to work with -- it dispenses and applies smoothly (provided you use a good quality caulking gun), adheres well, sets up pretty quickly but not so fast that you don't have time to smooth it out/touch it up. Cleanup is easy with soap and water. It's paintable, but I can't speak to how well it takes paint since I'm not painting over it (the caulk is white and the window frame is also white, so no need to paint). It's impossible to know how long it will last until years have gone by, but so far it's been holding up strong. I've used many other Red Devil products in the past and all have performed well, so I am not anticipating any issues with this. Good value for the price.

Last month, my next-door apartment neighbors moved out. They must have been real slobs because with their departure came a mass exodus of roaches of all sizes into my apartment----through the cracks at the baseboard of my closet wall adjoining their wall. For a solid 2 weeks, every time I opened my closet, there would be another roach, or two, or three. All scurrying back through the baseboard cracks toward their former home. I'm not much of a do-it-yourself-er, but the roach-influx required immediate action, so I went online to find some caulk or sealant or SOMETHING. This Red Devil sealant product was fine, BUT... I don't think the advertising here on Amazon made it plain: This is NOT a squeeze-tube! It wasn't until I received it and read the tiny print on the back that I saw it's meant to work with a caulking gun. Which I didn't have. So I sat there on my closet floor, straining mightily to push the device within the bottom of the container, getting only a meager amount of sealant out at each push (and hurting my fingers in the process). Took over an hour to do the 10-ft baseboard perimeter of my closet, a painful inch or two at a time. Results initially looked messy because (1) I didn't have a caulking gun, so there were messy globs everywhere; and (2) the transparent sealant initially comes out white until it dries clear. I saw other reviews here that said their transparent sealant stayed white. But in my case, it had dried clear by the next day. Long story short: This stuff did, indeed, dry to a transparent state. And it sealed the baseboard cracks (no more roaches). But this Amazon listing should probably spell out for the uninformed: You need a caulking gun for this particular product!

A little higher price but excellent quality. Goes on white and turns clear. Paint adheres good for nice coverage. I have squeezed a lot of tubes of caulk in my 73 years. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great product!

I've ordered this stuff a couple of times before. It's been my go to and has given me no problems until recently. In my last order one of the tubes had the consistency of cottage cheese which made it very difficult if not impossible to smooth. So I have to rethink using this if it's not going to be reliable. I can also only use this product in white because the colored caulk I tried from this brand was a ridiculous mauve color that was nowhere close to the color advertised. When I've gotten good tubes, it's easy to apply, shrinks just the right amount, never cracks, and never yellows my paint. I just wish I could count on this product more.

Got this to help seal gaps and block sound from coming in. It helped out a lot. Not sure how many db but if you can’t afford green glue this is the next best thing.

Just opened this today needing to use it and to my surprise its white inside when it says clear on the outside, w t f.

It’s been 2 weeks after application. It’s sill mostly white, partly clear and soft. It’s easily broken and tore. How long do I need to wait for it being dried up?

The tube was marked clear but what was inside was white.
