Pimsleur Italian Level 2 CD: Learn to Speak and Understand Italian with Pimsleur Language Programs (2) (Comprehensive)

I love the Pimsleur language system - I bought Italian I from Pimsleur directly (at a much higher cost!!) and loved it. But then I remembered how Amazon offers better deals and ordered Italian II from them. I started learning Italian in January and in the 4-5 months I've used the tapes, I am very satisfied with my level of conversation. And friends I speak Italian with are impressed with my progress. It is a very good system which I recommend highly. I take the CD on the bus with me and listen while commuting. I also listen to the tapes on my lunch hour and on long car trips. You have to take the lessons regularly so that the language is fresh in your mind - there is alot of repetition which is great so you get used to the words and sentence formations. Regularily is key to progress and I find that I took 3-4 lessons a week in Italian I and 3 lessons a week in Italian II as it covers tenses of verbs and is a little more complicated. But I love that they don't push down too much new information so as to be overwhelming - they give you just enough with each lesson to learn without being discouraged. It's a good system. N.O.

The Pimsleur method of language learning works for me. It's based on listening like we learn language as a child instead of grammar like we learn language in school. This is my second transaction with Language Secrets and they are terrific. The products are just as advertised and arrive quickly.

So far I love it , its very challenging as compared to level one. The price was fantastic, and it came in perfect condition. Very quick delivery too ! Thanks , see you for level 3 when I get there !

Almost a decade ago I ordered a packet that included lessons 1-9 (of level 1) of Pimsleur's Italian lessons. After finally cracking those open, I ordered the full level 1 and promptly ordered level 2 to continue my learning of the Italian language. There are sections here where they say the words too quickly and it's hard to understand what they're saying. And because I'm just learning the language, it's hard to know how to spell what you think you've understood to try to look it up. They do tell you what it is you are saying but, surprisingly, the translation apps don't always come up with the options that are being said, which can be frustrating. Having said that, I was getting pretty good at reading Italian from the booklet provided with the set of CDs. In fact, I felt I was reading better than I was pronouncing certain words. But overall, I have enjoyed using these CDs to further my learning of the Italian language and I would recommend these to others.

This product appears new and is a wonderful addition to my Italian language training. The seller shipped it immediately so it arrived days before scheduled.

This is an expensive learning cd set but is very helpful in aiding to learn the language. nice package and good shipping.

I bought levels 2 and 3 a couple of years ago. These courses are fairly well done, and I am learning, but the programs are dated - in some places going extensively over asking for phone books and asking to use the phone, as well as some other topics that are not very pertinent any more. Even more limiting is the fact that each CD is broken into two lessons, with no other sub level breaks. So if you were concentrating on driving and missed a little, you can't go back incrementally, but must restart the entire half hour lesson. This is a major deficit. Overall, at this point I would not recommend these lessons for the price unless the company updates the topics and reworks the CD formatting.

This is a great product that met all of my expectiation. I have used the Pimsleur method to learn other languages and I am always pleased with how well Pimsleur works. If you are willing to put in the time you will be very pleased as well.
