First off, this doesn't work well out of the box. The blade was not sharp enough to cut cleanly, but I have some good sharpening supplies, so I was able to get it razor sharp before trying it again. Second, it takes a delicate touch to not cut too deeply when you trim the tip. Third, you should put a layer of masking tape over the ferrule before using this or you will scuff up the ferrule. Given this caveats, it can work if you take your time, but it is NOT a no-brained tip trimmer (like it seems to be advertised). It is cheap, but if you don't already know what you are doing, then you are likely to cause some damage to a tip or ferrule. The irony is that if you DO know what you are doing, then you probably don't need this. As such, I can only give it two stars, despite its cheap price.

Timely delivery, good price, o.k. Such a simple looking thing. It made my heretofore ignorant sanding of tips effort look pro-simian. This little device when properly used is good for side tip trimming to give smooth surface on the cue to tip interface, and if angled slightly can shape the tip to a more aggressive curvature for those inclined to look at the micronal advantage of a curved tip to ball impact result. Makes a crumbly mess though, so be prepared with newspapers on the table or She Who Must Be Obeyed will wind up a turbine of withering criticism, hand you a broom and tell you to shape up or ship out. Nuff said!

Very affordable a and easy to use. If you can sharpen a pencil, this tool is for you.Requires a tiny bit of common since to patiently shave just what you need and not dig into the ferrule. I highly recommend this tool if you immediately throw away the stupid tips that come with most production cues.

Worked well to trim a new tip down. Put a 14mm tip on a 13mm ferrule. Trimmed slowly and it worked. Minus a star because the blade flexes in the mount a bit. Had to press down with my thumb to get it to cut. Since I do not forser using it often it is great for the cost.

Did its job and helped shape the cue tip...You do have to have a steady hand though but otherwise it was good.

They are not sharp enough and the blades are made of cheap soft metal, probably "pot metal" instead of a hard metal like "spring steel or chromium" good idea just needs better quality material. Some of them were rusted while still in the package.

It was everything I needed, I haven't used one before and it works great, very easy to trim my tip into playing condition, thanks
