Worth every penny!
I was a Thorogood guy for the last 7 years. Had some issues ordering the Thorogood boots, and these popped up in Amazon, so I decided to spend a bit extra and got the Danners. Right out of the box I could tell that the Danners were higher quality, constructed better, and all around better than the Thorogoods I had lived by. Super comfortable, sturdy, and not too bad to break-in. I can tell these will ast a while. Also, the outsole is awesome, it doesn't trap mud between the tread on the bottom.

Sometimes I donโt want to take them off.
Literally the most comfortable boot Iโve ever worn. I wear these 10-14 hours a day, 6 days a week, in an actual quarry. I am very hard on boots. Iโve worn Matterhorns, Carolinas, Oliverโs, Georgiaโs, Carhartt, and a pair of CAT branded boots that disintegrated after 6 weeks. The Christy sole on these Danners is a little soft, if youโre going to be on sharp rocks, and climbing on serrated steel ladder rungs, I think I would go for the tougher black lug-soled boots. The description did warn the white sole was softer, but I wanted the wedge sole. My fault. Took 2 days to break in, but they were comfortable out of the box. After a month of wear, the leather shows no signs of wear, outside of the usual superficial scuffs. (Hey, steel toe boots are just hammers for your feet, right?) The soles have a few cuts on them from 300 pounds of dude climbing on sharp metal ladders, even after a month of wear, if Iโm doing a lot of walking, I still find myself thinking, โdang, my feet are comfy!โ In terms of being waterproof, I have no complaints. I walk through puddles all day, and not a drop gets through. As a matter of fact, I recently rode my motorcycle through three hours of torrential downpour, and my feet were the only things that stayed dry. Iโm invariably going to wear the sole out on these before the rest of the boot wears out, but the great thing about Danners, is they are recraftable. For a small fee, you can mail them to Danner and have them rebuilt. Iโll likely get a different style of sole on them, but donโt regret my purchase of these boots at all.

Wow. Strong Heavy-Duty Boots. Surprisingly comfortable.
I, like many of you, have been looking for years to find that perfect made-in-America boot and I think Iโve found it. I prefer a 6 inch boot but these are surprisingly comfortable to wear all day on the site. It took a good three weeks to break them in but I never got a blister. The Vibram sole has great traction and far more flexible and comfortable than the traditional military-style Vibram sole Iโve had in the past. The leather on the steel toe is holding up very well which is a testament to the quality of the leather. For years Iโve avoided steel-toe work boots because itโs the toe that usually wears out first. Not these boots, so far. I love the laces. I dont have to double loop them and they stay tight all day. Iโm not exagerating. Some of you guys with a gut like mine know what a pain it is to bend over and re-tie boots. Not these boots! I guess what really sold me was the Danner refurbishment I can use to put more years on my boots. The boots are true fit. I normally wear a 10-10.5 D and was concerned about some reviewers comments that Danner runs narrow so I bought the extra wide. I think D wouldve been fine but then again, my feet arenโt swimming in the boots and I can lace them up tight enough. I really believe these could be the last pair of work boots Iโll need to buy.

Love these!
After much research and curiosity about Danners, I chose these Quarrys and was excited to finally wear them. I am now 3 weeks into using them at work. I work for the rail road and my position has extreme variations in terms of what myself or my feet are exposed to. First of all, when I opened the box I was impressed by the look of the boot and the overall construction of them, especially the interior. They looked extremely comfortable.... turns out they are! I ordered my usual size 10 and they fit perfect. After 3 weeks now, they feel exactly the same as they did when I first put them on, and now that the laces have made their impressions on the tongue and fringe, they are fitting a bit better actually. I treated them with grizzly grease before I wore them and aside from its claimed protective qualities, it changed the color of the boot nicely. The most important thing about an expensive boot for me is the ability to have them re-soled, and these apparently can be. Walking the balast on the tracks wears out the rubber like crazy, so it's a must for keeping a pair of boots for a long time. So, I know it's early to review a work boot, but hopefully they hold up and continue to feel as good as they do.

THE ONLY WORK BOOTS I WILL BUY. This is my second pair of Danners and they do not disappoint. The fit is excellent, finish is quality, durability legendary! I have destroyed lesser boots from their biggest competitors in a matter of months but these boots are holding up extremely well. I have owned and used these 5x per week for over 3 months now and they are just as supportive and comfortable as the first month. Break-in was pretty short with these which is rare with boots this supportive. They lose one star due to the fact that the waterproofing didn't hold up very long. I treated them with two layers of Obenauf's when I first got them and every month since. The first week I had them, we got quite a bit of rain so I was able to test out their waterproofing. Even standing in 4-5 inches of water for hours my feet remained completely dry. Unfortunately about a month later when I tried to do the same they eventually had some breakthrough. However, it wasn't until the last hour of a ten hour workday. This has barely impacted my satisfaction with these boots as I have had similar experiences with other goretex boots and didn't expect much different. In my experience, few leather boots are truly %100 waterproof after being abused for a month or two. These are top quality boots and definitely worth the investment if you are hard on your feet and footwear. If you've never tried Danner give these a shot. MADE IN PORTLAND USA! Update: Almost 3 years on the job and it's finally time to replace these boots. They are no longer waterproof at all, the liner is tattered around the heel cup and the midsole has lost all it's spring. The leather however has held up amazingly as well as the sole. No big surprise, I'm buying another pair of the same. Best boots I've ever owned by far. Still made in the USA. Keep it up, Danner!

Update ....... You now get 5 stars !! HELP, MY FEET ARE SWIMMING !
Please read the update below -- To start with ... yes, I have narrow feet. It appears Danner makes boots for the wider feet folks because you have to get them in D or E widths. That having been said --- Wow, these things are loose. The boot fits, it the right size, they fit everywhere except the toe box - my toes are flopping around with what feels like an extra 1/2 inch of room in all directions. Looking down, while lacing them up, they do look a bit like Ronald McDonald's boots because the toe box is soooo oversized! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE I called Danner, told them my problem and they sent out a insert to make the boots fit better. That JUST about did it. Then .. I installed "Comfort Gels" on top of those inserts and now --- These are the most comfortable boots I have EVER worn. Not Kidding !!! I Love these boots now & would recommend them to anyone :)

Sizing for once is perfect .
I have messed up feet due to injuries over the years and I need a wide toe which is impossible to find in a work boot but these fit like Keens wide toe boots . They are also very well made could not find any flaws in them . I was able to get one of those crazy Amazon deals on them the regular price is stupid expensive and I would not have paid regular price for them as you could buy 3 pairs of other boots for the price of one pair of these I would say they are very over priced at full price so look for a deal .

Comfortable, but not durable.
Iโve bought three pairs of danners so far. Not all workboots either. I really was relying on this product to last and although they are comfortable they are not a tough boot. I read the other reviews and they were, for the most part good. But after not even two weeks they already look beat up and depleted. The leather is soft. Too soft. The spots on the front have already completely scuffed in leaving small holes and indentations. I work in the oilfield and these boots were nothing more than fashionable for a few days. Pretty disappointing overall.

Mehh
It was an okay product. For the price it seems legit. But when you're ready to pay that amount for a pair of boots, I'd suggest you invest just a bit more as you will then be in top tier workboots such as viberg's, Wesco's and nick's.
