Got a Makita set of drills and lose or damage one? These are form factor equivalents, will fit exactly in the Makita case and look original. A little darker, possibly higher quality, but who cares.

Based on the description, I thought it would make my dinner too, but it doesn't. I guess that's what the wife is for.

Irwin - thanks for making consistently great products at reasonable prices. This has held up well so far (maybe 5 or 10 uses) and seems like it's going to do the job well.

I bought this to replace a broken one in a Ryobi set. It fits the quick load drill I have and is very sturdy. I am happy to be able to purchase just the one piece I needed.

I use these one or two days a week for less than an hour total drilling pilot holes in pine. Usually don't drill more than two or three holes in one pass. They seem to get dull fairly quick and then break off in the wood. They last me 3 to 6 months. So, now I buy them three or four at a time. When I have some free time I'm going to see if there's anything sharper/sturdier at a reasonable price/performance level.

I like Irwin bits, but probably DeWalt are better - and a lot more expensive.
