TREMENDOUS BARGAIN AT THIS PRICE
I did quite a bit of research on launch monitors. I compared the Rapsodo to the following; Swing Caddie SC300i, Swing Caddie SC4, Garmin R10, Rapsodo MLM2Pro and the FlightScope Mevo. Both Swing Caddies have positive features, but users complain that the associated app is terrible. The Flight Scope Mevo has limited data on it's app. The Garmin R10 probably has the most features but Costs twice as much and several of the appealing features of the Garmin require a subscription. The Rapsodo MLM2 Pro, is new to the market and most of the reviews were for pre-production (not fully functioning) units. It two is more than double the price of the MLM. I had a hard time deciding as all the units have pros and cons. The amount of data available on the MLM and the integrated flight tracing was appealing. In the end I decided to give it a go. If I thought it wasn't user friendly I could always return it to AMAZON. What was it like to live with the MLM? The Rapsodo MLM was a little finicky to initially setup, but that seems fairly normal for integrating hardware with cell phones (some of this I'm sure was operator error). After setting it up at home I went to the range and it worked as advertised. It picked up all my shots (77). I changed my clubs 8 times and only once did it not pickup the right club with the iphone camera (perhaps I didn't hold the club still enough). My phone is 3 years old and had about a 95% charge at the beginning at the end it was down to 46%. But it did take 77 short videos so not surprising. First time out, I think it worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend you give it a try. update 6/15/23 I've now used the MLM 14 times. Occasionally, I have trouble setting it up where it doesn't pick up my shots. I think this mostly getting the alignment right, but once you get it lined up it works great. The feedback you get on every stroke is unbelievable. By the time the ball hits the ground the MLM is already telling me how far it went, side carry and club head speed. You have a choice of 10 different data points. While on the range it only reads off 3 of your choosing. One note, it can burn up a lot of data (ask me how I know!!), the simple solution is go into profile/upload options and select only use wifi. Once I figured that out no problems. I have to say I don't know why everybody that wants to improve their game doesn't get one of these. Go for it. 7/4/23 TIP Still loving it. I have been going to the range every day and it is a great help. Some of the one star reviewers complained about lining the MLM up. When you set it up there is a camera view on your phone that shows ball area, alignment, player area. On my Iphone, this didn't work out well. The ball needed to be closer to the player than what was indicated. Now, I set up the mlm and iphone in line with where the ball is and this seems to work well.

Great Golf Gadget! Worth it!
I got this for a gift for my husband and he LOVES it! One of the best golf related purchases I've made for him. He using it weekly when practicing at home. It's small and light weight, easy to set up and easy to use, and very accurate. It has definitely helped my husband improve his golf game. My husband actually has fun using this when he practices. It allows him to see what he's doing, therefore, helps him makes adjustments to his swing to improve his game. I definitely think this is worth purchasing. And I absolutely know my husband would agree.

solid investment
does a great job with accuracy and reading the correct values. only gripe is the phone did overheat from usage but it was also 90 outside. very compact and easy to set up(takes about 3 minutes). offers a feature to be able to go back and watch all hits so you can really watch yourself to make corrections. for the money it is a solid monitor for the weekend warrior golfer whose just trying to get a little better

Get this if you want something pocket sized and helps instantly understand your swing
I had been in the research loop of launch monitors after I fell into the "you need to perfect your swing" trap, and had been looking at this one along with some of the others out there. I was ultimately stuck between this one and the Garmin launch monitor. I have a lot of Garmin equipment and that one would sync with my watch, the golf app, and had simulations so you could play virtual courses. I ended up getting this one because of the size and the ball tracking/video reviews and am really happy that I did. Ease of use: Once you set up an account on your mobile device of choice, it's as easy as turning it on, opening the app, putting your device in the folding holder and pointing the video feed where you're hitting from. Now all you have to do is swing away. There are some other steps about picking if you're outdoors or in a net and opening the practice part or combine if you pay for the pro version. As far as devices go, it's probably the easiest I've ever used and gives a ton of data. Data tracked: It tracks spin, direction, trends, club speed, ball speed, smash factor, and a load more of data. I need to preface that the sheer amount of data that it tracks and shows trends on was a huge deciding factor for me, a data nerd. There are some users that say the numbers are a little off but I have hit on a range with very specific distances marked and the distance seems pretty spot on. After using it for a few months, I've changed my approach (pun not intended), because the trend had been that all golfers need to adjust their swing to fit a box and I found myself not enjoying the game because every single move I made had way too much thought. Short version; it tracks a ton of data about your shot, at the range, on the course, or hitting into a net. If the goal is to get better, it captures more than enough data. At the end of the day, the goal is to hit the ball where you want to hit it. You get instant feedback and can make the adjustments needed in real time to really help shape your shot. That alone is worth much more than the cost. All that positivity aside, now it's time for some negatives: 1. You need to have it well placed. 6-8ft behind where you're hitting, pointed slightly down so you can see the whole hitting surface, and see where your shot apex will be. It sounds like it's pretty open with the wider angle of your device's camera but it has to be a bit more accurately placed than it seems. 2. Even with that, sometimes it misses shots. I haven't been able to find an exact reason but it just misses sometimes. It takes a habit of being able to dismiss the shot you just did in your head when it misses so you don't adjust without data. 3. It sits outside and if it's sunny, with the way you have it all placed, my device will overheat fairly often. I'm sure you could put something over it for shade and that would reduce the overheating, but haven't tried that yet. Extra positives that I didn't realize I would use but love: When at the range, you can just hold your club toward the camera, showing what it is, and it will automatically change it in the app. Shot tracking with video that you can look at later and see what you're doing for those awesome shots and where you're messing up when you top them. The biggest thing for me is, I have data backing the true distance of my shots, along with accuracy. You know those times when you say "I love my 7 iron. It's my most accurate club I have"... Now there's data to back it. The more you use it, the more data you have. I know that I have a lateral range of 100-170 yards with that club and the horizontal range is 15 yards. My other club has that 150-180yd range but horizontally, it's +/- 50yds. That's critical data and helps tremendously on the course. If you are looking for a device that will have you looking like Rory on the course with a textbook perfect swing, this isn't it. It's not going to help your form or make your hips pivot from your 3:1 swing ratio. What it will do is help you understand what works and what doesn't work with the swing you have and help you really know what your shots look like instead of the dreams of our perfect shots we keep in our head from that one time six years ago when we hit a 7 iron 200 yards and landed it with perfect backswing, 2 inches from the pin. Best yet, it's small enough that you can have all that in a tiny bag that is easier to forget you brought with you that it is to forget to bring it.

Home, home on the range
Honestly I didn't think any of these types of devices would be worth the money they cost, oh how I was wrong!! I bought the Rapsodo MLM in December and have since then hit over 1200 golf balls with it. The majority of the balls were hit into the net in my garage and a few on the range. It's winter so fairly cold in the midwest. This thing is amazing to say the least. I can walk into my garage, turn it on, load the app and will be hitting balls within minutes. I am lucky enough to have just over the recommended distances in my garage for the device and the net. It seems like 95% of the time it registers the shot, there are a few here and there that it won't pick up, but usually those are super high with my lob wedge or a hosel rocket that I probably don't want it picking up anyways. As for accuracy, it seems pretty good. Having played golf for 25 years, I have a very good idea of how far my clubs go depending on the swing I make. I do kinda wish it had spin rate, but from what I understand about the same priced launch monitors they are just trying to extrapolate the data and aren't really true spin rate anyways. I guess I'm ok not knowing a guess at what the spin was and it could be completely wrong. The Rapsodo MLM picks up the good and the bad shots, even the ones where I miss the net entirely and have to duck and cover with the ball hitting the garage door, ricocheting back at me. They make for some quite hilarious videos to send friends and family. Plus the ones where I absolutely blast a shot and want to brag. The beauty of the video is I can see exactly what my swing looks like on a good or bad shot, shows me what works and doesn't, how the shot shape is based on the swing I make. Doesn't get much better than that. How else do you improve if you can't see the data along with the video evidence? Not to say there aren't some things they can improve. The first would be to add Android support. I am lucky enough to have an iPhone laying around the house I can use for this, but others are not and could be a huge drawback or a reason to not buy it. The other is spin rate like I said before, but I want true spin rate, if possible. I guess I would probably settle for some extrapolation if I knew that it was a "good guess" so I know if a driver is flaring because of spin. All in all, this thing is great and will continue to use it even when it does get warm enough for me to go to the actual range, it will just come with me.

Makes practice SO much fun!
I have had the Rapsodo MLM for about a week now and I have to say that I LOVE this thing! I had tried the Garmin G80 but as a launch monitor, it just didn't do enough. I use Arccos for tech and tracking on the course, but I wanted something for practice, and the Rapsodo has been just awesome. I live about 5 minutes from a TopGolf so I go there quite often to practice. I have only taken the MLM there up to this point, but it's been great. SETUP Setup really is a breeze. The MLM only works on iOS right now, but from what I'm hearing, Android is in the works. You simply download the app, link it to your phone and you're good to go. The MLM device is already pre-calibrated, so it's as easy as connecting it to the phone, setting it up behind you (about 8 ft away, make sure that the phone can see you completely in the screen) and you're off and running! USING THE MLM Be sure to read the manual so you know what each light color means. In order to change your club in the software, you wave it in front of the camera and then turn over so the camera can see the number on the bottom of the club. The software easily recognized my irons and changes the club accordingly. It did not recognize my woods or my wedges well, however. It saw my PW, but not my 52, 56 or 60 degree wedges. In cases where the system doesn't recognize the club, simply select it in the software. Once you have the correct club selected, hit away! The MLM takes a video of your shot and gives you the carry distance, launch angle, club speed, ball speed and smash factor of every shot. It also uses the camera to give you a trajectory of your ball in the video. This worked about 95% of the time for me. I think it only missed trajectory once or twice. (See video for trajectory) The software also tracks how your shots land and distance of clubs. I put pictures of both my woods session and my irons session so you can see what the software tracks. It's great to see shot dispersion and distance of the different clubs. Totally gives me more confidence in my distances and placements. (You have to setup your GPS location as well as direction you're hitting to...I messed that up a bit as the map had me close to the right position, but the map picture was of the area before TopGolf was completed.) The system comes with a great case and is very protective. I love the ability to scrub the video of my swing. I can see my swing frame by frame to see what is going on...I can even share with others if I decide to take lessons. My only issue was for about 30 minutes I couldn't get the system to see my shots. It looked like it was working but wouldn't do anything. It was more than likely user error. I had grabbed my phone and ran to the bathroom so it lost bluetooth connection. Once I shut down the system/app then re-connected, all was fine. All in all, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Right now, it cannot be used indoors, but I did get an email from a Rapsodo rep stating that functionality just might be coming in the near future. I'm sure there won't be any trajectory tracking but we may be able to get the ball statistics and swing scrubbing. This has been a GREAT Christmas present! Looking forward to see how this will continue to help me in practice and lower my scores.

For Me, This Is A Piece Of Junk. More Hassle Than It's Worth.
Here is my honest opinion and experience. I purchased the Rapsodo MLM in July 2021. I carefully followed all instructions for use, even using a tape measure and a level for setup. I have used it on the range and in my backyard with a net. There have been times when it monitors my shots pretty well, but most of the time it misses too many shots. Sometimes more than half my shots go undetected One major problem is that after a short time using the device (1/2 hour or so), I'll get a warning notification indicating that my device is overheating, then the video feature shuts off completely (“a safety feature”). This was one of the main reasons for my purchase - immediate video feedback. I have used multiple iOS devices, including iPhones 7, 10, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini, and a new iPhone 13 Pro. The result is the same. After a short while, overheating warnings and video shutdown. I finally got the club identification feature to work, but only with the iPhone 13 Pro. None of the other devices listed would automatically identify any club. When I reached out to customer service to discuss my problems, I was disappointed to learn that I could only reach customer service for the MLM via email. Good luck finding a live person with whom you can speak. When I tried using the Chat feature on the support area of the website, clicking Chat did nothing - no response, using multiple web browsers. There is a telephone number in the website support area, but it has an automated voice message that directs you to reach them via email. I did receive a timely email response that blamed the overheating problem on possibly using the device in direct sunlight, having too many open apps on my phone, using it on a hot day (my iPhone 13 Pro overheated in 20 minutes using it on a nice 75-degree day, in the shade of backyard trees). Rapsodo’s email advised me to “Use the MLM at night or during cooler weather” or use an iPad, which should dissipate heat better (it didn’t). I was also told the auto club identifying feature only works with iPhone XS or higher, a detail that was not obvious during my research on their website. Using the MLM on the range seemed to be mostly accurate when it worked, though there were some clear misses. Distinguishing between range and indoor/outdoor net use was fairly straight forward, until recent updates to the app, which is now very confusing and frustrating. I feel duped out of $500 for a device that promised a lot, but in my case, didn’t deliver. UPDATE 10/15/2021: The latest firmware (1.3.24) update to the device appears to have improved the functioning of the MLM using iPhone 13 Pro. Most of my balls are being monitored, though there were still a few balls that the MLM did not catch. I was able to hit balls for more than a half hour without getting overheating warnings. The club identification feature is still problematic, even with the advanced iPhone 13 Pro camera. One day on the range, club identification worked pretty well, but a few days later, while hitting balls into a net in my backyard, it could not identify any of the same clubs. I hope these are signs of improvement that will continue.

Good…when it works
I’ve found some of the measurements to be pretty accurate and set up is pretty easy, but none of that matters when it seems to work only 55-65% of the time. I’ve gone full sessions without it recording a single shot, so much so that I’ve missed out on actually training because I was too busy adjusting the monitor and my phone and hitting a practice shot to see if it’d record. Suffice it to say it’s incredibly frustrating but given it’s price, I shouldn’t be too surprised.

Great for more precise practice
Great product so far! Been looking for a launch monitor for a while and kept comparing them online, in the end went for this one as it seemed to have the most features, recording your swing and shot tracing being the main one for me. It also helps you work out your normal distances and shot pattern which will help a lot when playing on the golf course. The MLM picks up most swings and is relatively easy to set up. It has definitely made going to the range more engaging and feels like an improvement to regular practice. Haven’t tried it in net mode yet but they release new updates regularly so I’m sure it will be fine for that.
